Neighbour is a mentalist driver

This morning whilst i had just pulled my driveway in a small quiet Cul De Sac to go to work i was approaching the junction at the end to a feeder road for the estate when one of my "lovely" neighbours comes hammering round the corner on the wrong side of the road causing me to swerve up onto the curb and almost through another neighbours hedge.

I knew that some damage had been caused to my Alloys due to the huge bang, but to my horror and total disbelief the mental cow came over to me screaming that i had nearly ran into her as i was on the wrong side of the road (This road is clearly marked 2 lane road with the marking towards the junction). I couldn't believe it. Then followed big boy friend to see what was going on. I just thought here we go!!Whilst she was screaming the neighbourhood down i explained to him how could i have possibly have been on the wrong side of the road when my car is parked almost in another neighbours garden with a badly scuffed nearside alloy, flat tyre when i intended on turning left at the junction.

To be fair to him he saw straight away that she was in the wrong which enraged her even more to the point of her swinging for him and giving him a bashing!!!. I couldn't believe it, All this at 10am on a Sunday Morning!!! She then stormed off in tears which is when he told me that she is on her third car of the year due to writing the other 2 off!!!!

I was soo p**sed off as i take so much care of my car and all the neighbours constantly take the mick as its always been washed And that one of them just has no respect for anyone or anything and then will ot admit that she was in the wrong.

I'm just thankful it was my car that she nearly hit and not one of the kids on the street who were out playing at the time, Crazy Cow.

Sorry rant over......... Big deep breath........ And oooohh feel better now!!!

Sounds as if she needs a sedative, and maybe a few ECT's to sort her out. Something really 'A miss' there.:

Not just a mentalist driver then,
sounds like a bit of an all-round nutter.

Hope the damage isn't too extensive.

I actually feel sorry for the bloke too.

Re: Neighbour is a mentalist driver

Really sorry to hear that - hope the repair bill is not too massive

It's so ironic how the people who most often make the neighbourhood a nightmare to navigate are actually the "respectable" ones. Chavs get a bad name, but our area is completely dominated by rep-mobile driving "knights of the road" who come screaming home from work each night as if it's an F1 race or "yummy mummy" types who can barely control their ridiculous 4x4's and mount curbs at random...

I actually encouraged the Police (via my local councillor) to start speed checks in our street and the adjacent main road because I'm so sick of it - it seems to have worked as well

Hope it all works out

Yeah, we have a few yummy-mummy mpv driving morons around here. Seems that putting these women in a big car gives them automatic right-of-way.

Re: Neighbour is a mentalist driver

We have a complete moron who lives on our street - its only a small cul-de-sac but He has to drive as fast as he can to the end where our house is and spin his car round so he can park outside his house, across from another car almost blocking the road ( this is a daily event . Thing is the street is full of kids !

As the damage was caused by having to avoid her I'd claim on her insurance !!

BTW She sounds a bit of a looney all round IMO !!

Re: Neighbour is a mentalist driver

Why is this country suddenly full of loonies? My mum and dad recently had their second lot move in next to them after it took them 3 yrs to get rid of the previous one with the help of their MP!! This one at least seems receptive to gentle suggestions about a decent human moral code, perhaps they can teach him some manners .
Being a **** is one thing, not putting your hands up to it is a whole different (and very dangerous) ball game .

Re: Neighbour is a mentalist driver

Cheers everyone for your comments. I too feel sorry for the bloke having to live with that. Might have to take him fo a beer and explain the error hes made in choice of women, Although i think he might have seen that yesterday!!!.

Just got back from the dealer having had everything checked out and thankfully all seems to be ok just a new tyre which the bloke has already offered to pay for and need to get the scuffs on the alloy sorted again which he has offered to pay.

I did consider going the insurance way but the thought of the hassle especially with her reactions would take ages to sort out and at the end of the day i still have to live near this looney. I would rather keep the peace as much as possible than provoke her into maybe doing some malicious damage. Just don't know what goes through her mind.

Just a bit of advise required, Where and how much does this usually cost per alloy as need to get both offside ones repaired. And don't suppose anyone knows of anywhere in Sussex that can do this?? Any advise/ help would be much appreciated.

Like i said before in a way i'm glad it was me she nearly hit than one of the kids, Can't begin how to imagine he argument would have gone with one of the kids perents if she had hit one.
"Well it was your kids fault"..... Stupid *****!!!

Cheers again everyone.

Re: Neighbour is a mentalist driver

You're looking at about 80 to do 2 alloys, plus the cost of the tyre.

Its unbelievable really isn't it What annoys me in situations like this is that she's clearly in the wrong, and hasn't even offered you an apology

Re: Neighbour is a mentalist driver

At the weekend my sister witnessed a girl in the left hand lane approaching a roundabout with her left-hand indicator on but who went right! the girl ended up cutting in front of a taxi and ripped his front bumper off. They both stopped and she got out and was screaming at the taxi driver. The poor taxi driver was trying to point out the fact she was in the wrong but she was having none of it. What made it worse was as he went to retrieve his bumper the girl got in to her car and drove off.

My sister phoned the police and reported the fact that this nutter had left the scene of an accident. The police said they couldn't do anything unless the taxi driver reported it .

People just seem to be more up tight when driving these days. I think a lot of the driving is terrible but I've tried to chill out a bit more these days as it's not worth the hassle of getting upset.

Well, on the up side, you seem to have one neighbour who is a good bloke. Shame about his other half!
