throwing litter out of cars!!

Following a fairly new (05 plate) big Volvo 4X4 home this evening when a brown Mcdonalds bag comes flying out from the rear window followed by fag packet from the front and a plastic drinks bottle that I couldn't avoid!

Don't want to sound like an old Victor Meldrew character but do some people have no pride / respect?

phew - that's better

Re: throwing litter out of cars!!

I can't stand that!!!!!
A plastic bottle thrown from the car in front on the motorway a few months back hit my bonnet and made a fair sized noticeable ding!
The bloody fright you get when it batters off your windscreen as well!

thats why we have to report these pikeys...or at the very least insert the said thrown item into them without using any form of lubricant...that'll teach the feckers

What is equally depressing that as a VW Sharan, it was probably full of kids all watching their parents endorse throwing their **** out of the car.

Re: throwing litter out of cars!!

I was walking past a parked van and just as I got near the window the mindless wonder threw is unfinshed brew out of the window. Very nearly covered me in his un-drank tea.

Neadless to say - I did have a quiet word with him !

Littering out of the car window is shocking, it doesn't take much to keep the litter until you get home or find a nearby bin!

Agreed, and littering is an offence (sorry HM )

I usually flash or pip the horn if I'm following someone who does this

Re: throwing litter out of cars!!

I was at a set of traffic lights in Middlesbrough once and the drivers door of the car in front opened and the driver proceeded to empty his rather full ashtray into the road !! I then began to notice piles of ash and fag butts at all sets of traffic lights after that !!

I always been one to keep my litter until I get to a place where I can dispose of it properly !! I've taught my boy to do this also... it isn't that difficult to do is it

Obviously littering form moving vehicles is a huge problem here in the UK... all you have to is look at the roadside grass verges/Motorway central areas next time you go anywhere !!

Littering makes me , but if you did take their number and report them would the police do anything about it?

Re: throwing litter out of cars!!

Littering is an offence and you can get fined for in (on the spot fines in some areas) IIRC !!

As to whether this is actually implemented I don't know !!

Re: throwing litter out of cars!!

the worst is in the car park of my local pub - from time to time it becomes a congregation ground for half a dozen or so boy racers (chavved up saxo's and clouds of reefer smoke). driving past the morning after they've been there it looks like a landfill site - piles of mcdonalds wrappers, drinks bottles, cans, crisp packets, fag ends

it's not a public car park so the police wouldn't be interested, whilst the landlord just says he's asked the brewery for cctv but they won't pay

the stupidest thing is there are 2 litter bins at the entrance to the car park and they can't even be arsed to bin their rubbish on the way out the dirty little pikeys

- Keepin' it moist -
