Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

Blinkin' flip!

Nearly got swiped today by some Bangle-Boy in a 5-series (or it may have been a partially digested 7- I can't tell these days) who decided to change lanes while queued up at some lights, because the inside lane queue had 2 less cars in it. Well, 1 less... as I was in the gap.

Shame there was no 155 option to replace "Horn" with "Bronze goat-head ram"... I'd have given him a playful tap!

Re: Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

A 3 series convertible almost caused a pile up on the roundabout at the end of the M54!

3 lanes approach the roundabout with two lanes leading off at the first exit. He decided to approach in lane three as if to go straight over and then changed his mind and cut between the cars in the two outer lanes to take the first exit while actually on the roundabout!

Difficult to explain but suffice to say that Mr White van in lane two and all traffic in lanes 1 had to stop completely while Mr BMW shot off into the distance. Could have been really nasty.

60% of the time it works everytime.

I hear that. ALthough both my parents drive BMW's - A X5 4.4i Sport - Pointless car.. and a 56 plate 330.. Which to be fair is quite nice but not pretty like the last models...

They dont drive like tw*ts but thats probably coz they are old!!

Re: Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

No - I've come across a few very mannerly ones recently. I think there are certain owner profiles that are ****s:

1) Young, thrusting 20-30 yr old ambitious d*cks who think a BMW really is the ultimate driving machine and that their 318 repmobile is better and faster than your GTA.

2) Chavs in BMW hand-me-downs.

The problem is, because BMW have such a high profile and is such a successful marque, all the drivers get tarred by the same brush. The brand is going to become seriously uncool in the next handful of years because of this.

Re: Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

YES,have been in two near misses with bmw drivers in recent weeks,
particularly on m/ways,undertaking tailgating etc,to cap it all I was
waiting for a set of traffic lights to change whilst a woman messed
about with the power hood on her 54 plate 330csi,when they changed
she never even moved!gave her a brief toot on my horn to tell her I
was pulling out to pass her, screamed a tirade of four letter words
at me,pulled up to have a word with her,was greeted with yet another
outburst,I must add I never swear at women.
There is just too many of these BMW bullies ,for want of a better
word on the roads these days!

Senceless, uneducated, mindless, brainwashed unfortunates the lot of them, who would drive round in a perfectly sensible, reliable, cover all bases, bore of a car, when you could have an ALFA !!!!! Point proved i reckon.

While a car does not make the driver, my recent experiences have brought out some colourful language!

Re: Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

I think he was being ironic
Ignoring the snob/**** perception thing that seems to be a big deal in England, they are great cars.
They might look like muck at the moment with the current styling (M series excepted), but they still drive very well indeed and sadly, are better drivers cars than Alfa latest offerings.

Actually I met a very nice BMW driver on the way to the Alfa Donnington bash last year.
I had just left the Holyhead Ferry enclosure and rejoined normal roads when I pulled off to the side of the road, and was deflating my tyre pressures (have to raise them to board the ferry since my car is -30mm for trackdays ).
Anyway a beemer 3 series coupe came past on the other side of the road, stopped and reversed slowly back up to me.
I was expecting something along the lines "Alfa broke down, need some help?", but no, he just said
"thats one absolutely beautiful car you got there mate!" and drove off..

They are not all bad you know

I wish I could agree, but he also drives around with his windows down playing techno!!! (He and I used to be in a band together, his taste in music was never that bad before ). I must point out , I'm not talking teenager, my mate (and he is my mate) is a thirty-something If he's being ironic he's a very good actor. If I'm ever in the car with him i also wear a hat, puled down very low to stop people recognising me

I did say they weren't all bad though, just about 80%

Re: Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

a woman in a Bm nearly caused my death tonight. Pulled out on me at a roundabout. She was in the worng lane - she was in the lane to take the first exit but went straight on and I nearly went straight into her God bless ABS but cars in the other lane had to swerve to avoid me. Silly stupid woman but it could have been any make of car - she misudged my speed and how fast/slow her car was on pulling away - oh and she forgot her basic rules of the road - give way to your right

Re: Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

The fella who fancied a re-style looked mid-30's/40 junior exec'/sales rep' type.. so no surprise really...

But I suppose if there's even one Beemer driver who isn't a t*** then the answer is "no".

Curses! Foiled again!

Re: Are BMW drivers ALL complete tw*ts?

Darn it. Was in the car park at the station this morning and found out that the pay-and-display machine wouldn't take the only £1 coin I had on me. Who should kindly offer me one of his £1 coins instead? A nice man who'd just parked an X5 nearby.

Thank you that man. You still drive an utterly pointless car but by no means can you be described as a complete t**t.
