Re: The Sound of a Vacuum Cleaner

I agree. When I lived at home and I had a day off from work my mum would wake me up with the vacuum cleaner quite a lot.

I even removed the plug on one occasion.

Aaaargh! Tell me about it! Hate the ruddy noisy contraption! Her indoors finally coaxed me into agreeing to let he get a Legend, quite some time ago now, worst agreement regarding a vacuum cleaner we ever arrived at, in my personal opinion.: She loves it, and I must admit it really does have terrific suction power, but what a racket when she is using it! I normally go out to get away from it and her when she is having a cleaning session!! :

Re: The Sound of a Vacuum Cleaner

I'm a Dyson fan. I read his book, and enjoyed the call to their Tech Support chap about what that squeak was coming from it I did Email them saying that I didn't think Dysons were quieter.

The Dyson was cutting out due to getting too hot.

It's been replaced by a Vax from Tesco for £60. It's louder.

I am sure that the boy racer fad for loud exhausts and induction roar, surely people wanting to mimic the racket unsilenced motorcycles make, have influenced vacuum cleaner 'noise'.

This hoover is louder and therefore it must be sucking harder?
