On friday I became the victim of what I would call racial hatred.
From a little man who is the same skin colour and I assume the same 'religeon'.
Y'see there's the problem. That's not racism.
Whether you choose to speak or not speak a language
is up to you. It's something you, or the bloke in question,
could readily change.
Racism (my view) is where someone singles you out on something
you cannot change about yourself. Your skin colour, physical
features etc. Something that will single you out in a crowd
walking down a street and there is nothing you can do (nor should you)
to change that about yourself.
This is one of the reasons the UK is getting more and more xenophobic
as the years go on, because the "idea" of what is "racist" has become so
diluted and applied to such an overwide range of prejudices that people
now can't stand/be bothered to hear about it when it happens.
Everything gets lumped in as "PC Gone Mad!" including real
racist *** when it happens. And that is fostering a feeling
in some that the good ol' times where you can say what
the **** you like to/about anyone are back.
