Roundabouts...

Or more specifically, the ignorant [email protected] that seem to get horse blinkers on and just charge out infront of you if you're going right at one... what the hell? Every damn time at a certain roundabout.

Chichester, the Bognor roundabout if anyone knows it, I work just off of there and have to turn right towards Bognor, and every damn time a van or worse a bloody arctic!! just cuts me up as I go to turn off.

Think I'll get my crummy ford fitted with an RPG system.

Rant over

Re: Roundabouts...

Very annoying! If they dont indicate I just pull out and then they have to stop as Im bigger than them and 30-40 tonne Obviously I dont do it if they are tanking it round but they should indicate and it takes alot to get mine lorry rolling again with lots of gear changes!

Indeed, people seem to have a problem understanding roundabouts its amazing they can work three pedals with only two feet.

Re: Roundabouts...

What about when you are stuck in a tailback for the roundabout and some *** puts on their indicator, overtakes the lot of them and then doesnt turn right? I dont care if you are turning right you wait you dam turn!! I usually wait until they get about 500 yards away and then move out and sit my wheels on the white line, then chuckle to myself. If I'm feeling mischievous and they are going the same way as me I wont let them past

There was a Polish driver in the paper ages ago who was watching a dvd on his laptop while cooking and eating some noodles all while he had his feet up going down the motorway! A motorist rang the rozzas who called in a helecopter who recorded it and then he got pulled

Time to go to work now

Crikey Jim, I can only assume it was a Polish woman driver - multitasking like that.

What is the point of sitting a queue for 'X' amount of yards/miles when there is a perfectly good usable lane to be used?
If everbody who insists on blocking other drivers out there can't perform the simply yet totally effective 'merge in turn' then these hold ups would not be as long and tedious as they are.
I guess what I'm saying is that it's people like you that cause the tailbacks and on some occasions accidents.

Re: Roundabouts...

We need people to fill both lanes all the way up to the merge, then there's nowhere for the @rses to go. And if everybody lets one vehicle in order will be restored.
Because there is a real shortage of goodwill around (& police) when required.

An equal argument would be that those who refuse to merge when opportunity arises, yet insist on pushing that bit further just to gain a cars length are to blame.

In short, we should respect each other a hell of a lot more in such situations.

Or just be as petty as you like, chances are I'll be on my bike and will just whizz through the gaps

... and then get knocked off by the drivers who are concentrating so much on getting one place in front that they don't see you coming in there mirrors and take you out

Re: Roundabouts...

Well, at least you don't have to contend with parked cars,
zero indication and no logical lane discipline on entering, on
traversing or on leaving the roundabout.

(

What I've recently learned is that French roundabout rules are almost identical
to UK ones with one major exception:

It actually states in the French code book that if you don't know where you are
going, you can stay in the outside lane.

This becomes the default behaviour and so roundabouts cannot work here.
