Charity Adverts

Now dont get me wrong, I have nothing against charities and give what I can each year. But sitting here on my little weeks holiday, watching a bit more telly than I usually do and every other advert seems to be for some charity.

Its just depressing, I mean halfway through a good comedy program and I'm shown mistreated donkeys, ill dogs, starving children and somebody dying of cancer. I dont mind the odd one, but they are getting silly now.

Anyhoo rant over now as I'm going to put a DVD on ::}

Re: Charity Adverts

I dont mind the adverts, and I have full respect for charities and the work they do - but I do object to the guilt trip. Give just 2 pounds a month to starving africans, abused children and monkeys in distress... and old people, and disabled, and more. As soon as I'm guilted into doing it for one, where do you draw the line? 5 different charities? Ten?

I'll do my bit for the poor guys stuck in the cold with a tin trying to collect and drop in whatever I have on me, but i'm hardly going to set up a direct debit.
