Mobile bloody Broadband

I've been having problems with my mobile broadband from 3. It drops out after about 2 mins of use and i very rarely get more that 20KBPS even though they say we are in a good coverage area. So i decided to cancel it due to the fact that i'm paying for a service they seemingly cannot provide...Anyway, i have 4 months left of my contract at £12.50 a month..and guess what, first they said I cant cancel and then when i argued they said they will to charge me to cancel it....£330 Not a happy bunny, but said fine.....i'll just let the contract expire and carry on making the payments til it does....but oh no, apparently i cant do that......now that I have asked for it to be cancelled (even though they told me i couldnt at first) it will be cancelled and i will be billed.....

All i can say is.....3...if you are listening, by all means come and, try, to get your payment, but you will be leaving with your useless bloody dongle shoved right up your fat ****

Re: Mobile bloody Broadband

Hmmm not good.

What's "3"'s network like these days?

Just started using mine.

Got a 3G USB key with SIM for occasional
use. Cost €49. All branded Vodaphoney kit/software.

No subscription. Just pay €10 for the day
it I do log on. (75Mbyte limit until midnight.)

Great for customer sites without public WiFi
and cheaper than most hotels and Aeroports.

I think it's only about €15/day when roaming
in Europe too.

Re: Mobile bloody Broadband

I'm in an area of not excellant reception but usually get good download speeds, I think the problem they have is the success of the product, to many people using it and the gateway onto the net not being of sufficient size.
For me it either the 3g dongle of chuff all speed from a dial-up link, can't get fixed broadband where I am.

Re: Mobile bloody Broadband

Well apparently i'm in good coverage area and should be getting a much better download rate than I am, one of their cust servs people let slip that the mast apparently cant cope with the number of people trying to use it.........apparently thats still not good enough reason for me to be able to cancel.
I dont think I'll bother cancelling, think i will just issue them with a court summons for failing to provide a service i pay for. That'll show them

Re: Mobile bloody Broadband

I also have the 3 wireless dongle.Have had it for about 3 months now and it was good for the first 2 months but is not getting slower and slower. I can regularly not connect and it is frustrating. Was at my dads the other day and if I logged onto the router from next door who dont have it protected it was still 10 times faster - at least.
I also have my phone with 3 and that is not too bad and I do get
700 anynetwork mins
2000 3 network mins
200 texts

all for £14 a month. Cant complain too much there.

I think they have you by the balls really, as you sign up to a year / 18 months contract and it is pretty water tight from their point of view. But if they are failing to provide a service then they should not be paid so give it a month or 2 and I will have to take further action if things do not get better.

Any advice on what to do if It does not get better and I have to take a stand? I can surely not just cancell the DD and tell them I dont want it anymore as they are [email protected]?

Re: Mobile bloody Broadband

I'll keep you posted on how it goes for me, they said i would have to send the dongle in for repair so i took it into the shop and they said it was fine, just bad service where I live, infact one of the guys from the shop came to my house and was appalled by how slow it was.....apparently their own staff or not qualified to make a judgement (according to some call centre in india) so I told them that they need to send someone qualified out to my house to see it for themselves...nope they dont do that, so in other words I have no way of proving to them that I get really bad service, if any, in the evenings. But not to worry, I have video and screen shots of my dongle fluctuating between 0 and 0.2 kbps for over an hour. See what the courts say to that

Re: Mobile bloody Broadband

Take them the full road Stu, they get away with robbery because their complaints procedure is so frustrating most people give up or end
up needing Psychiatric help after dealing with them, I have just cancelled one of my contracts with them and when the other is up for renewal that will go too,

"Hello my name is (insert here) can I help you, have you tried switching it off ? have you tried the settings, have you tried standing on your head" let me transfer you to the technical department " hello my name is (insert here) how can I help you? have you tried switching it off ? have you tried the settings, have you tried standing on your head" let me find a supervisor for you, "Hello my name is (insert here) can I help you, have you tried switching it off ? have you tried the settings, have you tried standing on your head" let me transfer you to the technical department "

they make me soooooo angry

Re: Mobile bloody Broadband

When I had a major issue with 3 dongle, I was on the phone to India and the guy actually said that they had stopped the mast sharing agreement they had with T-Mobile and that woukld affect the way I connected and ultimately the speed. Eventually got through to someone in the UK and they said they had found a problem and engineers would fix within 72hrs, they did surprisingly.
BTW, we also have a certain place in the house where we get best connection, unfortunately it's at the end of a 3m USB extension cable hung over a curtain pole, Mobile broadband my asre.

Crud! Several of my colleagues use them and when I ring them or they ring me it always cuts out because they have lost their signal, its a right pain in the arse especially when your giving directions somewhere

Had problems with them a couple of months ago with my old mans phones, resulted in him cancelling his contract and they cancelled his other so jobs a good en

Not had anything to do with the mobile broadband dongle thingys thankfully as they sound more trouble than they are worth

Nope ... since broadband was commonly available I've been with Sky TV , tried PlusNet for combined Phone Calls/Broadband, didn't seem to be any cheaper and the customer service was disjointed to say the least ... IMO can't been BT for phones and Sky for TV, broadband is pretty much the same where ever you go (as least I've found, used Pipex, Plusnet and now Sky ...) so as Sky offer a reasonable deal I went with them ...
