Rubber Neckers ...

The was/is a fairly bad accident on the M3 today, I think it had only happened about 10mins before I got to it because the police/ambulance weren't there yet there was I ford transit laying on it's side partially blocking the outside lane ... I couldn't tell you about the other vehicles involved because I was concentrating on the traffic ... unlike the old fool in the merc in front of me who virtually stopped to have a good old look at what was going on ...

Don't worry though I demonstrated my frustration at his bad driving once we were clear of the accident ...

It's customary to slow down to a crawl and take plenty of pictures of dismembered limbs and blood and guts without actually stopping and helping those involved in this country.

I've got a whole portfolio that i show to visitors.

156 Chris, I think I was travelling just after you as the Police had arrived when I went past. You missed the helicopter that landed just in front of the transit van.

I really hope nobody was hurt...

Re: Rubber Neckers ...

It all seemed very calm when I went through (even though there seemed to be vehicles everywhere), so I do hope no-one was seriously injured ... thinking about how to get to that part of the M3 from frimley park ... you'd have to do a very long round trip in an ambulance, so hopefully it was just precautionary ...

Re: Rubber Neckers ...

hey - thought id dd - nobody was seriously injured (life threatening or changing!) beleive it was just a van and car involved and lots of tarmac and barriers!!!

there was a lot on the m3 yesterday nd the day before including i beleive a fellow members alfa going up in flames etc etc.

the general public can be soo frustrating when accidents happen - yet they are the first to moan when they are being held up "for no reason" !!!

rant over!! its my job i spose!

Re: Rubber Neckers ...

I remember having an accident* on the A1M at Hatfield and having to get recovered by a police debris vehicle.
The cop at the scene said to me, as a Transit van nearly took out a rubber-necker in the inside lane "let's get you out of here before I have to clear up another one... f***ing idiots have never seen a car accident before.."

*not my fault. Not in an Alfa.

Re: Rubber Neckers ...

Saw a 'Police Camera Action' thingy on TV a few nights ago.

Motorway police incredulous and complaining about poeple who slow down and take a morbid interest in motorway incidents.........

.....on a programme designed for people who have a morbid interest in motorway incidents!

Re: Rubber Neckers ...

If you are really into rubber necking go to Russia. They aren't allowed to move bodies from the scene of an accident until the state investigators have been in and done what they have to. So any victims have to be left in situ until they show up.

You can drive past a RTA and see all kinds of stuff (literally) splattered in front of you.

Seen it twice on the Moscow version of the M25. Pretty grim.
