The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

I know I'm not allowed to swear here so I will try my best not to say what I really think.

My club Bournemouth who I have been a season ticket holder of for many years and my sons are both season ticket holders of have been slapped with another -17 point deduction for this coming season. Last year we were relegated for going into administration. They gave us a 10 point deduction which would have left us mid table. The reason for the 10 points is to stop clubs using admin as a way of cheating the system to gain an advantage. You have to accept it and move on.

BUT becuase we didn't come out of admin correctly (using a CVA) we have now been hit by another -17 points?!?!

We are not some club overspending to gain success. We are not using the system to gain an advantage. We are one of many many clubs who struggle to survive becuase the clubs in the premiersh*t suck all the money from the sport.

The last time we bought a player was 8 years ago and we paid 5000 to a local non league side for him!?!? Hardly trying to buy success is it?

Instead of trying to help all these clubs whose players earn pretty average wages (most are on about 30-40k at Bournemouth) they put the boot in when they are down. The highlight of of my week is to spend saturday with my boys taking them to their football and tennis training in the morning and then picking up grandad before heading down to Dean Court for the football. I'd love the League to explain to my 8 and 4 year old why this coming season is pointless (no pun intended).

We've been relegated once....why does it have to be twice?!?!

I'm right annoyed I am!

Re: The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

I can never understand what's going on with this ... clubs almost always go into administration because they're in the sh*t, so the football league says "I know instead of helping them out, lets kick them while they're down" ...

... I feel your pain

(but hey it's only Bournemouth )

You are right Cannavar, they should be helping the smaller clubs, not forcing them further into debt.

I don't understand the ruling either I know it is supposed to try and stop clubs overspending and make them more accountable but now B'mouth are in League 2 what hope for them

Good luck for the coming season.

Re: The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

It makes it a lot easier for ome of the other clubs in league 2 this year. You've now got your own mini league of Luton, Rotherham and Bournemouth scrapping for the one guaranteed place in the Footbal league.
Just got to make sure you beat Rotherham, Luton are well and truly ducked.
I think Bournemouth have the best chance to avoid the drop into the abyss of the Blue Square Premier and the draconian rules they have.
On the bright side, fans of Wrexham are having a laugh this year, loads of TV coverage thanks to Setanta.

Re: The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

Not wishing to sound insensitive, but being a Southampton fan who used to have a lot of time for Bournemouth, only to get a s**t load of abuse from Cherries fans during our recent trials and tribulations, despite sending a lot of our nippers on loan to you, I have no sumpathy.

Southampton as a club has always been faily kind to Bournemouth (aside from the Dani Rodriguez episode in the late nineties) and to have it thrown back as bile and distain from your support is somewhat hard to take.

I personally hope you do pull through, but I do feel this is karma working in its way. Frankly, clubs need to start learning how to opperate within their own limitations. If you cannot financially sustain a campaign in league 1, then I'm afraid it's more telling of the club as a whole then the league.

You need to support a proper team, like the mighty Dorchester Town

Or the even mightier GlenToran

Re: The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

Yeah thanks Jed!

Colin, I think you might be talking about the minority that both clubs have. We go to Southampton a lot, the couple next to us at Bournemouth have season tickets to both teams as many do. You always get the chavs at the back who are abusive to anyone and anything (including their own fans) but most supporters have a lot of time for the scumme.....oops sorry Southampton

There will always be rivaly in football but we like to see the Saints do well.

I quite like Pompy too as i went to uni there and of course Harry and defoe.

Thanks for the ground share! Been to a few games over the years when Bournemouth have not been playing.

Re: The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

Maybe some people should have been more sympathetic to us Leeds fans , there's no turning back now after the ruling against us last season.
Even though you don't like Leeds, Cannavar, I understand your frustration, & hope the football league can stop being so heavy handed.

Re: The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

I agree brickman but basedon recent decisions you got over quite leniently.

We got relegated as a result of our 10 point deduction last year but Leeds saved going into admin until they already were down so the 10 points meant nothing. Then you got 15 the season after which is totally rediclous but still less than ours.

Not sure why we've been hit so much worse? As said we never buy players in and yet even when so much was owed to the tax man Leeds were still buying in players....how come we are in someway guilty of a bigger punishment?

Re: The Football league!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

Don't know much about the rules in England but it does seem an excessive and harsh punishment just for being skint.

Spend my Saturday's supporting my local team (Auchinleck Talbot) who are a junior team (equivalent probably non league, part time playing staff) and don't know what I would do if they weren't there to go to.

Got off lightly - remember Luton !?

30 points

At least they have given you a chance - where as Luton haven't got a prayer from being relegated from league status

Chris
Lutons 30 include 10 seperate points from the FA but agree its totally pathetic!

Although with us and Rotherham on -17 it means Luton start the season 13 points from safety!

Robbed in injury time today...still, only 16 points left to go
