Not Happy British Petroleum profits 8.7bn

Oil giant BP has reported a 26% rise in annual profit to $16.2bn (8.7bn) after benefiting from high oil prices and last week, rival Shell reported an annual profit of $17.5bn - a record profit for a UK-listed company.
Some people may be calling for a 'windfall tax' ...I say reduce the price at the pumps.....

Re: British Petroleum profits 8.7bn

Behold the myopic selfishness of the oil industry. All of our govenments should be spending every last penny of fuel tax on developing alternative clean fuels and installing the infrastructure we need to live off of it. Only then will I consider these taxes to be "green".

Re: British Petroleum profits 8.7bn

The majority of the cost at the pumps is due to this goverments blatant tax rip off.

Nearly 70p from every litre the goverment takes in tax - thats criminal.

If they took the vat of the fuel escalator alone that would save 8p a litre - why are we paying tax on a tax.

Very interesting, I didn't realise the VAT is calculated on both the fuel AND the fuel tax, that's criminal!
