uk.gov knows best, everything will be okay...

BBC NEWS | UK | Government funds Muslim thinkers

Hazel Blears was spouting so much **** this morning.
Trying to make herself sound like some great Muslim scholar.

Anything that comes out of her mouth I treat with disdain
and scorn. Sickening Bint.

Audio here:
BBC - Today

Warning, Hazel Blears voice may make you angry.

Not that I'm cynical but ... who will select these "Islamic theologians", I presume the same people that are funding the scheme? perhaps, just maybe they'll pick the people who agree with them ... therefore the outcome will be pretty much pre-determined ...

Re: uk.gov knows best, everything will be okay...

I watched "The Qa'ran" last night hoping to get my questions about "what is this muslim thing all about" ... and I must admit there seems to be no answers, just more questions ... I don't see how anyone can make a definitive statement about what the Qa'ran says/means as it is so open to interpretation ...

... I think ultimately it was written like that so that each individual can make up there own mind about god and as such have there own belief ...

as I said I'm no expert, and I don't even pretend to know much about this subject ... it seem's, however, to be alot more complicated than is described in the press

I'm struggling to understand if this was the brainchild of a group of Muslims, for Muslims, why is the Government funding it? I personally don't agree with the state sponsoring any kind of religous activity and would rather not have my tax payments spent on teaching Muslim children "that they can be proud Muslims and proud young British people."

Well said, Monty an ideal which should be pursued, rather than cabinet ministers, opening their mouths without engaging their brain. Keep religion out of politics, and make it clear to all religions that they abide by the rules of the country. Let the government focus their attention, on putting across the message, that integration is what we need, not insular ghettos, where people are isolated from British life.
Do away with all faith schools, and have one national curriculum, exams at the same time, marked by one examination board. Have a religious studies group in schools (1 hour a week), where children learn about different faiths. Why should any child be brought up in a religion, which they are unable to question or comprehend?
I agree with Chris about the channel 4 programme on the Koran, it posed far more questions than it answered. However, isn't this the way with all religions? Aren't they all open to interpretation? Look at the US, where they are teaching Creationism in a lot of radical Christian schools - in this day and age FFS.
Nev - Hazel Blears voice takes me far beyond anger, but then so do all of the Bliar babes - Blears, Harman, Jowell, Flint.

Sorry - end of rant, must take another blood pressure tablet!
