Hmmm Queuing

Why is it if people can queue at a Bank, Post Office, Supermarket, Bookies, Football Match, Petrol Station and Bus Shelter etc etc, they think it's OK on the Station Platform to jump on the train ahead of those who have been waiting the longest?

These are not rude kids but working adults in suits, so called 'pillars of society'.

It's not as if I'm chuffing invisible: 6'4" and 17 stone.....

Re: Queuing

I know what you mean.. Does always seem to the men in suits type that do this..
I've been known to open my door to stop people getting past me when a lane is closing, but not since I got my Alfa
I was even worse when I was pregnant, I'd start having a go at them.. Hormones.. Got to love em

Re: Queuing

The 'City Gents' are the worst, how do you think they got where they are today?

I'd give this advice: if you're sure of your case when someone blatantly pushes in front of you, use your size! And make a meal of it verbally too - shame them!

Re: Queuing

I was really tempted this morning to discuss this with the 5 men and 1 woman who pushed in front of me, and then all stood around me on the crowded train. As we go 5 minutes between stations it could have been an interesting debate!

Re: Queuing

The thing that gets me is when you get off the tube at a busy station and before you even reach the door, people are piling on.

I now nearly ALWAYS push them back off the train and say something.

I hate london transport, especially buses. This is why I drove to work this week.

Rude ****'s

Re: Queuing

I stopped working in London just over 4 years ago, and i used to hate the journeys to and from work sat on a train with people coughing and spluttering all over you, pushing past you without an excuse me ...
It was always a case who pushes hardest gets to the front of the queue, but I would rather wait for the next one to come along ..

But having said that I made sure that if people didn't say excuse me if they wanted to get past me, they wouldn't get past me !

Re: Queuing

I am more than happy to have a go. I stand to the side of the door and let people off first, then if anyone tries to push in front a simple "Excuse me!" works wonders. You don't have to have a row, as no-one talks to randoms on trains (unless you're all drunk) so when someone does speak it means they're serious.

A little dig in the ribs with your elbow helps too.

Re: Queuing

I went on a train in London once. No-one speaks and everyone pushes !!! I found it weird. Not for us country types....

So wrong.

There is a roped off queue at my local
post office, with plenty of seating in the
queue itself, that applies to everyone
except old women. Boy are they bolshy
****ers when they are directed to the back
of the line.

Re: Queuing

If you think trains & public transport are bad...what about airports ? Any of you fly regularly ? I do, and I tell you, I HATE it these days - as soon as people step onto airport property, they become complete bungholes. "It's all about ME"- I'm going to get on board first, so that I can stow my 3 pieces of oversized 'carry-on' luggage in the bin, and S*D the rest of you if there's no more space....oh, and I'm going to get up first when plane stops, and push my way to the front, rather than letting the rows in front of me get up and make their way out, in turn. Queueing ? What's that ? Suits to the front, the h*ll with the rest of you.
Not to mention the sprint to and scrum through passport control..."hey, I might be in a hurry to make a connection, too, you b*stard....."
Just makes my blood boil. And makes my otherwise OK job very unpleasant.
Rant over. Until ths subject shifts onto the US TSA types.....oh man, don't get me started on that lot....

Yes a suitcase, laptop bag, briefcase, raincoat, umbrella,
make-up bag (for the women) and dutyfree carrier bags (x3)
don't constituent 2 pieces of carry on do they?

Oh yes and the people who have their seatbelts off and
are halfway down the aisle blithering on their mobile before
the plane has parked up.
Aggressive hard braking by the pilot normally sorts those
dicks out.
