Not Happy The M Bleeding 6

Did anybody eles get stuck on that joke of a motorway they call the M6 today

Three hours to get from Blackburn to Liverpool is was bleeding awful

All three lanes closed because a car went up an embankment surley the could have kept at least one lane open

They close all the lanes ... just because they can!!!

I love the rolling road blokes they do sometimes ... I had the fortune to be at the front of one once ... it was like when the safety car comes out in formula 1!!!

I had the misfortune of being on the M6 Toll this morning! A glorious empty bit of motorway with a lovely smooth road surface that my 156 quite happily ate up at an undisclosed speed

You were obviously going in the wrong direction Tony

Re: The M Bleeding 6

I had to go back to work twice this evening.
Once to get my wallet and again just now to arm
the alarm 'cause some sales guy forgot to.
After I specifically told him too!

Still 'twas only 40 mins extra.

Tell me more of this thing you call "traffic"...

Coming back from Glasgow and stopped for diesel, heard about the jam on their radio as I was paying and was able to cut across to Scotch Corner and miss the lot.

A wise move

Three hours for a 40 minute journey was a real ballache

Bugger

That kind of put's my rant into perspective

I've edited the tread title after reading what Al's just posted.

My sympathy's go to the family of the young man that passed away

It's a tale with a bad end,
but it might just have easily
only have been a truck shedding
a load of straw bales or something.

Re: The M Bleeding 6

coming back up the A34 in the early hours this morning they had it down to one lane, then halfway through the cones they decided to have a traffic light just after a bend, well i managed to stop my truck only 1 truck length past the lights good job nobody else was sat there, that is the first time ive ever come across a traffic light halfway through roadworks in 16 years of driving. it was compounded by being in an unlit section so i saw no signs warning of lights, i then had to follow a convoy wagon through the rest of the roadworks at 10mph all for 2 guys with one of those hot torch things they use on the joins, there was more guys opperating the lights and convoy than actually doing the work

bit of advice guys put the lights at the start of the roadworks and not just after a bend and put a few signs up
