Nintendo's USA bias

It's the wife's birthday on Friday and she dropped a few hints that she'd like a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit. I can get the console easily enough but I can't get Wii Fit anywhere. I discovered yesterday after being told for the umpteenth time that there was no stock, that Nintendo had their US release last week and cleared all their UK stock and sent it to America .

Apparantly it'll be weeks before anybody gets it in again and I ain't going to pay the extortionate prices they're going for on Ebay.

Hard work never killed anyone.

That’s the trouble – I want to engage in something that has a little danger to it

Re: Nintendo's USA bias

The wii fit was available in the US when I was there last week.

The Wii console was $249! But it was sold out everywhere! I couldnt find one at all!

Jon, have a look at buying on from the states and having it shipped over.

Re: Nintendo's USA bias

Sounds like ********. You can't use UK discs in the US and vice versa.
Also, Mark-up in the UK is so much higher and the volume so much smaller
that shipping stuff earmarked for the UK to the US makes zero sense.

they have them in stock at www.fnac.fr for €90.
Dunno if they ship to the uk....

Just had a quick look at kelkoo.co.uk and can't believe that Wii Fit is going for £125+!

I bought it for the missus at launch and only paid £70.

You could be right but I heard this from two different sources. I've put my name down for one from Xtravision (Video hire place that also sells games etc) as they got 10 in last week and expect more this week but are only selling by pre-order.

Re: Nintendo's USA bias

Well after a week I've got less backache and
have lost 3 kg lbs.

There's some fun stuff. The skiing
is a laugh but gaming wise it's a bit
light.

The fact it tracks you and measure
you weight balance every day is
good for lazy good-for-nothing never
execised in 10years layabouts like
myself.

I like it.
