Something’s got to give soon but the trouble is I don’t know what.

I filled up 64.97 litres in the GTA last night costing £74.00

I normally use V-power but it's soo expensive

It is disgusting... but I do think that if these carbon emissions are so bad it is the responsibility of our generation to use all the oil before we pass on...so the next generation can use clean fuels.

I haven't gone above about £65 yet, but I don't tend to drain it before filling.

5 years ago though, I filled up an Aston Martin and it cost £85. Consider how much less petrol cost then, and that I'd only done 250 miles to cost me that much. And it was aonly about 3/4 of a tank!

In fact, according to the AA, petrol was about 75.3p then - so if I had to do the same fill-up today it would cost me about £130.
A full refuel would cost about £165!

... just had a thought, you didn't use it as your wedding car did you? in which case a better use of it would've been to drive as quickly as possible to the other end of the country (only joking)

LOL

I have started to feel the pinch with my GTA. I got it back in November where it was just over a pound per litre down my way. I didn't really notice the prices going up because I was getting one or two full tanks a week.

Due to a change of working habbits I haven't used the car much for the past three weeks so a tank has lasted. I was a bit shocked on saturday to find it was about £1.15 per litre. At least 5 or 6p more over just a few weeks.

It is enough to make me seriously consider getting something like a fiat 500 for work. It would probably pay for itself in a year or two!

I was told recently by someone who looked intelligent (and wasn't sitting in a pub)- that it is more cost effective to buy the higher RON unleaded as the increased fuel consumption covers the higher cost, and you get better performance. Not sure if this is correct though....

No I'm afraid that is pretty rubbish. Unless you are mapped to run on higher octane fuel you won't see any difference.

Although V-power is pretty good at keeping things clean and efficient.

He had that angle covered by saying that modern engines would adjust accordingly...but you have confirmed what I think I knew. Thanks

the government needs to reduce tax on fuel now and not try and get the oil companies to pump a more barrels
