TUT overtaking lane

why oh why can people not just use it as it's meant to be used??!

I mean really, there's no traffic in the left hand lane, and yet 15 or so cars all feel they should chug along below the speed limit in the overtaking lane....
You're not overtaking so GET THE HELL OUTTA THE LANE!

These people (when I'm late or impatient) cause me to risk my licence by undertaking because they refuse to get into the right lane even if i give them a couple of headlight flashes to let the know I'd like to pass...

And what almost makes the red mist decend over my eyes is when there's 1 car in the overtaking lane that is travelling too slowly, you give them the flash to suggest they move and they don't, give them a minute or so to shift themselves into the appropriate lane and they dont, so I undertake them.. Then they have the audacity to hold their full beams on behind me after I pull back into the correct lane!!

Grrrr!! I really could go on about this all day & night but I won't... damn it feels good to get that bit of frustration out.

Re: overtaking lane

it's not that backwards over here dude

they're getting there slowly but surely... we even have a couple of 3 lane roads over here now although the M50 (motorway that surrounds dublin) which they're upgrading from 2 to 3 lanes all the way round, they're making it bigger to handle a higher volume of traffic & yet they're putting a permanently reduced speed limit on it, bringing it from 120kph to 100kph yet another thing that's really getting on my ****!!

I got tailgated by a BMW yesterday. I was in the inside lane and he seemed annoyed that I wouldn't undertake the long line of idiots in the outside lane. You can't win.

Sorry to say that my Alfa went about 7-8 months ago.

Even worse, my very exciting SAAB (not) is currently being repaired. I was driving a SEAT something or other which is the loaner from the repair company.

Re: overtaking lane

I was amazed driving on the M25 last week in rush hour. On a section where there was 4 lanes, everyone was insisting on driving in the 2 outside lanes, the 2 nearside lanes were almost clear, utterly bonkers!!
