Tagging/graffiti

At the end of my litte close there is a substation with big wooden doors. Some twonk has wrote ASM (prob initials) on the doors now about a dozen times. I chuck a bit of unleaded on it and it comes off easy.
He did it agin last night
He also went one step too far and has tagged my garden fence at the side of the house
Have been noticing lately that ASM is plastered around the whole of Winnersh hundreds of times and think that the blighter should be made to clear off every tag that anyone has done, or be shot (whichever is easiest).

Am off now to dowse everything with petrol, lets hope ASM doesn't walk past while I am doing it or he might get a bit wet!

WWJD?
(What Would Jesus Drive?)

Are we nearly there yet?

Re: Tagging/graffiti

I hate graffitti, particularly in Italy where they tend to be on old, historical buildings

Re: Tagging/graffiti

Ran out of unleaded so decided to use initiative!

Cif oven cleaner

Took a fraction of the time compared with petrol to remove permanent marker. Didnt even take the waterproofing off the fence!
As my neighbours were passing by I made enquires into the identity of ASM. It seems the kids across the road know him. Just have to offer them cash for their troubles once they get home from school.

Still mad

Petrol is expensive, I'd just repaint it!

Paints expensive!
I'm not painting the substation as its not really mine.
Oh and one I start painting I will have to do the whole fence(not that I have OCD or anything)!

Re: Tagging/graffiti

Why can't all graffiti be like banksy's artwork? Murals like his are works of art and actually brighten up a dreary area.

Tagging is an eyesore and i hate it

Re: Tagging/graffiti

I seem to remember that Spalding recently set up a wall so that the artists could go and do what they want there, would seem to me a solution to suit everyone.

Last I heard it hadn't worked, the graffiti is every where else but on the wall !

I suppose that making it legal has taken all the fun out of it......

Re: Tagging/graffiti

It's existed for thousands of years.
Don't think we'll be stopping it anytime soon.

As HSTD said, pity none of them have more talent.

Re: Tagging/graffiti

Wouldnt be any bother if it was Banksy. Probably raise the value of your property too Might be worth seeing if ASM can get in contact with him. Funny how notoriety can lead some to stardom and others to jail.

Re: Tagging/graffiti

I think ASM might not be able to spell never mind create artwork. Might have got his initials wrong!

Re: Tagging/graffiti

Tagging is talentless IMHO. I dont want to see it from my front window and I certainly don't want it on my property. If anything MY name should be on it!

He hasn't come back with a reply since opening this thread so fingers crossed?

Re: Tagging/graffiti

Theres a subtle difference between a graffiti artist who puts time, effort and a lot of talent into a piece and giro jim who 'tags'
'ME UN ME BICH WOZ ERE Y2K+1'
the latter should be shot IMHO.

What looks better? a massive plain concrete wall or a piece of art? all depends on location though. Theres a step bridge round the corner from me with some decent graffiti, looks much better than the plain green walls. out of the way to so not in anyones face.

Re: Tagging/graffiti

Very true g5een. Banksy's book is a good illustration of true art but a mindless statement is just Crap. I can write my initials and a have little to none at all talent. Am keeping an eye out for him. Windows are open, eyes keen. The only thing distracting me is AO!
