Asda Home delivery

Last Wednesday I placed an order on the Asda website for some groceries to be delivered todaty between 4 and 6pm. At the time of writing (8.35pm) they still haven't arrived. I made arrengements to be here so that they can be dlivered and they haven't showed up. They have taken my money though. The reason I did this is so that I hate shopping, and I have better things to do with my bank holiday.

Thats the first and last time I will use this service with them.

Re: Asda Home delivery

Cant vouch for Asda as i've never used them, but I cant vouch for Tesco either, who I have used, because they are crap. I just happened to be at my kitchen window when I saw him arrive, it looks out onto the road, and watched him do a handbrake turn, mount the kerb on the other side of the road, and turn my eggs into omelette. I confronted him about it, phoned Tescos and nothing happened!!! I still see him deliver down my road driving like his ass is on fire!!! But I shant use them again. Rubbish.

I hate supermarkets with a passion as well hence the online ordering..

I remember a couple of months back, Ted Conolly in car mechanics mag said that "They are places of hell, piped music, trolleys everywhere, squaking kids accompanied by women with shoulder tatoos, i'll fitting sandles and heels covered in plasters".

I think that hit the nail on the head.

Re: Asda Home delivery

try waitrose delivered via Ocado.

very reliable
often deliver early if conveniant
text reminders of your order
weekly email reminders
user friendly website and whilst they charge for certain delivery slots they have been 99.99999% reliable in three four years of use
simple refund process

i don't work for them but its a service that does what it says on the tin. get what you pay for at the end of the day and food quality is high.

Re: Asda Home delivery

We use the Tesco one a regular basis. We did use the Waitrose one recently on a dummy run to see what they are like and I got told off by the driver

With Tesco they put the boxes on the doorstep and you take the bags out yourself so when Waitrose turned up they had it by the front door so I did the same. When the driver saw me taking the bags out he started running from the van saying to me don't take the bags out I'll take them to the kitchen for you

Can't fault the guy for customer service

Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac

The great question....which I have not been able to answer...is, What does a woman want?

Re: Asda Home delivery

we have used tesco delivery a few times but my problem with them is the number of bags you end up with, despite them being delivered in big plastic boxes, each item in the boxes seems to have its own plastic bag, now im no eco-mentalist but even i take umbridge to this.

Re: Asda Home delivery

I just phoned up Asda and cancelled the order as well as giving them an Earful. I have better things to do with an evening than to wait in for shopping not to arrive.

Tesco is the next option, as I am dammed if I am going shopping on my bank holiday.

I would be calling the RSPCA as treating an Ass (donkey) badly does not go down well

A cousin was told off by a now ex-american friend who told him to 'kiss ass' ...My cousin wondered where he would find an Ass to kiss as there were no farms near by

Sorry, but all I can think is: "lazy boy!"

Shop at lunchtime here (between 12:30 and
13:30) because no French person would ever
waste their lunch break shopping.
Goes out the window a bit in the summer
because tourists don't know the rule.

I would rather spend the time messing with my car..

This was the first time I ever tried ordering groceries online BTW, normally we visit Asda in Swindon once a month. Which was nice..

Re: Asda Home delivery

as someone who has had to deliver for a dotcom shop once or twice, I have a couple of experiences to share

* I had to deliver into a block of presigeous flat in the centre of Brum (don't laugh, they do exist) and it took over 40 mins to get access to the CCTV contolled car park, then find the correct stair well to find the concierge, take 10 green trays of stuff up in the lift, walk across a courtyard and then up two flights of stairs. No wonder they had it delivered.

Second I had had to deliver a laptop, already hours late a a van had broken down, went to customer address, she had put down her work address even though it was a Sunday, so I agreed to to deliver to her home address 5 mines away and she did nothing but grizzle, even though if she had put her correct address in it would have been on time.

I later found out she claimed she had not received her laptop at all and had Head office on the phone two days later trying to find where it had gone.

Not a job I would wish to do often.

There is this assumption that if you throw a bit of money at someone they will do a task you don't like with perfection 100% every time, if you cannot accept that things may go wrong from time to time, it''s time to DIY, after all why else are the most satisfied Alfa owners the one that do it themsleves.

Sure Acado may be better, but what a price you have to pay.
