Nasty.

I used to work with a sufferer. She used to arrive ar work some days hobbling like she was about 90. She said she had to go downstairs on her arse in the morning. By 10am she was fine.

I got some generic Scholl inserts yesterday from the chemist. I'll give them some time but if it doesn't work then I'll have to consider something custom.

I've read that most people suffer more in the mornings but it doesn't seem to be that way for me.

Rolling a chilled drinks can with you bare foot is meant to help.

Thanks. It does seem to be better wearing the inserts - only had one attack so far today.

I had to stop wearing flip-flops because of PF. It’s so painful! Tend to spend a bit more on my footwear these days so I get proper support for my arches.

Not had it for a few years now. Trying not to bring it back!!

My sympathy PoP

Thanks J.

It has dawned on me that it probably isn't something that's going to go away and I shall need to consider it when buying footwear in future. It really is very painful so very worthwhile!

I'm having shockwave therapy on mine as recommended by the Consultant. I've had it a while and have medical cover through work so decided to get it seen to. I've been recommended 3 sessions of it and after 2 so far it hasn't had any noticeable effect. I believe the recommendation to go through this is just a big network where these private hospitals are making money off insurance companies.

I'm not convinced this therapy will do the trick but if after the third session, next week, if there's any difference then I'll post it up. Apparently the treatment is available on the NHS too now.

Aaww, do you want a likkle cuddle?

Expose your intimate details on the web! deal with it.

Sounds a bit harsh, but I’ll get over it.

Next patient please.

I know a fat old policeman
He's always on our street.
A fat and jolly red-faced man
He really is a treat.
He's too kind for a policeman
He's never known to frown.
And everybody says
He is the happiest man in town!.

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

He laughs upon point duty
He laughs upon his beat.
He laughs at everybody
When he's walking in the street.

He never can stop laughing
He says he's never tried.
But once he did arrest a man
And laughed until he cried!
Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

His jolly face is wrinkled
And then he shut his eyes.
He opened his great big mouth
It was a wonderous size!

He said "I must arrest you!"
He didn't know what for.
And then he started laughing
Until he cracked his fat old jaw.

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

So if you chance to meet him
While walking 'round the town.
Shake him by his fat old hand
And give him half a crown.

His eyes will beam and sparkle
He'll gurgle with delight.
And then you'll start him laughing
With all his blessed might!

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
I think I was wrong. Apart from the bribery.

Let’s lighten the mood:

Text from SIL this morning.

She received a phone call from her MIL’s care workers, “Sorry but we’ve found her dead on the floor when we called this morning”

SIL and BIL had to come out of work going straight to her bungalow.

MIL sat up on ambulance gurney being taken to hospital, she’d had a seizure of some sort.

What a morning, tears of sadness and then tears of joy.

Suffered with this a year ago. Sorted by exercise. Stretching the Achilles tendon so it doesn't pull on the heel as much which stretches the tendons under the foot beyond where they become painful.
Exercises were standing on your toes on a step and bouncing down the stretch the achilles tendon plus rolling a drinks can under your foot.
Got some strange looks at work but cured it in a month/6 weeks for me. If it comes back a little stretching does it in a day or two.

Ford Mondeo :(

I had this a few years ago. My job was mostly warehouse based but changed to include quite a bit of office work too, so I changed my footwear from steel toe boots to steel toe oxfords. A few weeks later I got up in the night and when I walked it felt like I was standing on a nail. This continued to happen after a period of inactivity, stabbing pain under my foot near the heel.
I made an appointment to see a foot specialist (podiatrist?) and he diagnosed plantar fasciitis and asked if I had recently changed my footwear as this can be a cause of it. He also wanted to sell me some expensive inserts for my shoes! I declined his offer and threw away the oxfords and went back to wearing the wider fitting steel toe boots and have never suffered with it again.
If you have recently started to wear new footwear, that could be causing the problem, stop wearing them and buy some wider fitting footwear or go back to your previous footwear before buying inserts, it may not work but it may save you some money and discomfort
