motorway idiot yesterday

So, driving round the M25 yesterday going to family, really busy section going west around J8. A silver ford SUV races down the slip and launches across lanes to get across to lane 4. Am already there following a blue vauxhall. So ford is racing up to the car in front, braking lots then gets ahead of the vauxhall and cuts in right under the front of it causing us to brake etc. I ease off the throttle to build a gap and vauxhall driver decides to move to lane 3 and undertake, thankfully missing the car in lane 2 that was moving into lane 3! riding brakes and tailgating he then cuts across in front of mr ford just like he had done earlier.

Next thing, idiot in mr fords passenger side decides to lob a can of coke at the vauxhall!!! Of course it doesn't go forward does it. No, it sails backward and bounces off the road and hits the bonnet right in front of me and across into the opposite carriageway! FFS!!! My dad sat in the passenger seat was a bit shocked to say the least.

Ford then cuts over to lane 2 undertaking a range rover, cuts across him and back in front the vauxhall. Stupid idiots. So today I've logged it onto Surrey police's website and will be sending the dash-cam footage for their amusement and hopefully a big slap for mr ford and his passenger and the vaux too.

can't post the footage yet till mr traffic cop lets me know if they'll be following up...

With folks like that on the roads, no wonder many of us have cameras nowadays. Looks like the coke can chipped the paint a little on impact but thankfully it missed the windscreen, wasn't an empty as coke was coming out of it when it was thrown. I left the M25 next exit and onto quieter roads which was good as he was close tailgating another car right into a section where variable speed limit came into effect, never know he may have gotten flashed going by that camera which would be true justice if he gets bonus points for his license ;-)

well, the video evidence has reached their PO box, tracked, so time will tell...

Should I ask them if I can fit a plasma cannon or rail gun onto the front of the car I wonder ;-)

Finger crossed.

20 years ago I'd have not been pro dobbing people in.

But now? 'em. Too many [email protected] on the road. We need to help 'cull' them.

yeah I agree there, but these days there's just too many inconsiderate [email protected] on the road. Had it been a less experienced driver following they may have emergency stopped or tried to swerve to avoid the can and caused carnage behind the idiot that caused it and he'd have carried on unharmed. Or of course another red rage and go after to have a go at the idiots and make things worse.

Had so many near misses when I used to travel 2-3K miles/month that it just made sense to install cameras. This ones an upgrade from the front-only that I used to have that died. It's a junsun android mirror with a rear view too. Sits on the original mirror mount so looks reasonably OEM, customised with an animated Alfa badge startup like in the tv ads too, where the car drives round the twisties that forms the serpent and it pans back to be the badge https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...2&postcount=80 ;-)

seems both are being asked to provide driver details :-)

As I can't easily prove any damage other than by closely examining video to home in on point of impact I'm not going to pursue that side, would be too easy to claim any marks are stone chips and I've no before pics to compare against so not worth the hassle. No dents so at worst will be chips to the lacquer coat.

Not all Alfa drivers.

There is a Giulia driving t**t in our village that likes to tailgate and cut people up , hope he gets his comeuppance one day.
I guess its a company car by the way he pilots it
