Re: The motorist Hammered again????

If fuel prices keep rising in relation to wages It will get to a stage when people cannot afford to use their cars for work. They will say ********* to this, jack in their jobs and sign on the dole.

If I can't afford to use the car to get to work I will be stuffed as there is no public transport.

That was on North Road in Cardiff, cheapest in the area, Diesel in Ystrad is about 188.9, its 123.9p in some places! But, in America I imagine its still something like 50p per litre

Re: The motorist Hammered again????

Well they say that the UK has the cheapest fuel in Europe. Before tax is added on.

You would think that as they have cut spending on maintaining the roads (or so it appears) they would be able to afford to cut fuel tax.

The motorist has always been a soft target for revenue, if you are on a below average income, own a car, and have a mortgage I would imagine things would be very tight at the moment.

Re: The motorist Hammered again????

I was reading an article the other day that was saying 66p in every £1 of fuel is tax, so, on that basis I paid 116.9p per litre the other day when I should have been paying 39.75p per litre!

Well said Ray. If I can't get to work through having no fuel so be it.

My company will loose lots of money, and so will many other because of this.
