Madness Another Tesco's rant

Went into my local Tescos this evening and purchased some Alcohol, as I went to pay for it, they asked me for some ID Couldn't believe it! I understand that they have to ask people who look under a certain age (21) and I think this is a good Idea, however, you only have to look at me and realise I am defo over 21, let alone 18!

Maybe I should just be flattered! but when people in the que turn there heads to look at you, its kinda embarrassing! Think they thought the same as me

Ohh and my picture on the driving license barely resembles me anymore, being 10 years or so ago, I dunno...........

Had that happen a few times, worst one was Boots in Carmarthen, i'd gone for flu plus stuff and was told, "you have to be over 16 for me to sell you paracetamol, have you got ID?" I was 26 Didn't have any ID, just my car keys, she gave me them, but how embarresing, being took for a 16 year old!

I never got asked for I.D. even when I was underage. Guess I've got an old face !!!

Tesco by us asks for I.D. if you look under 30 even they haven't asked me....

I'm 6'4 and 130kg's and love the look on the the till workers' faces when I buy alcohol. They start looking for the supervisor then look at me and just throw the bottle through the reader

Wish people would ask me ! When living in the USA I always volunteered ID but alas, no one ever wished to see it.

I have now removed all the mirrors in my house so I can see myself in my minds eye, much better than the reality !

One of my sisters was constanly being asked this, she used to get half fares on buses when she was 28 & when she used to buy cigarettes she was asked "are these for your mum" she would just say "Yes", mind you she is only 4' 11" & at the time until her late 40's she was about 7 stone !!a Little cutie.

Re: Another Tesco's rant

I went to buy some drain unblocker (hydrogen peroxide) from B&Q.

When I got to the till I was asked to confirm that I was over 21.

I am 56 and look every second of it (more probably).

When I said "you're kidding me right?"

He said "We have to ask everyone".

Why?

Re: Another Tesco's rant

I got ID'd in Morrisons when I was 34, by a girl who was probably 12. Unfortunately I couldn't remember how old I was; comedy discussion with wife - I think I'm 35; or was it 34? Well I remember your 30th blah blah. Still had to pull out my driving license!

Re: Another Tesco's rant

I was asked for ID to buy a lighter last year at the grand old age of 29. I said, "are you serious?" and she looked a bit flustered and let me through.

The trouble is, I don't have any ID.

Re: Another Tesco's rant

I got asked last year at the tender age of 28

I took it as a compliment, but was insulted when the woman behind me in the queue was flabbergasted and said I was clearly older
