Lunchtimes!

No, I am not averse to a bit of snap at peckish o'clock but on occasion, during the lunchtime, I also have to do 'other things'. Examples include posting an item to one of Mrs Pat's relatives, dropping something off that has to be returned or purchasing an essential item that has been depleted, such as shaving foam.

So why is it that with only the entire history of this country as a 'nation of shpopkeepers' nobody in retail has worked out that this is the exact worst time to send all of your staff off for their lunch?

Every frikkin' establishment I have been into seems to have 4 tills and only one person in the building serving customers and a blimmin' great long queue out of the door. Even McDonalds had let half of their 'customer team' go for lunch the other day!

How has nobody in retail worked out that the vast majority of the population are chained to their desk from 9 to 5 apart from a brief gap in the middle of the day when they can rush about like lunatics from one effin' great queue to another.

Queues that are probably chock full of shop workers who have bogged off to leave their beleaguered colleagues with shop-length queues while they 'nip out for a stamp'.

Just GET ORGANISED FFS!

I work nights. Several good reasons for this......

1. Can choose when I do errands. Normally late afternoon when it's quiet.
2. No traffic jams going to work. Ever.
3. Can sleep peacefully while a plethora of morons go about their daily duties of ****ing off normal folk.
4. Enhanced pay and less hours.
5. Increased risk of ill health and dying early.

4 outta 5 ain't bad.

One of the things I'll miss about my previous job was the total
freedom we had in terms of office hours. i.e. there were none.

Or at least there were no managers onsite to enforce them.
