Guide to BMW model codes

If , like me , you aren't the slightest bit interested in BMWs but find them mentioned in threads about Alfas on the Alfaowner website using some "E" coding rather than the year they were registered here's a link to the fascinating world of BMW. BMW Model Archive List of E-Codes bmwarchive.org
The most interesting letter prefix is the rather optimistic Z which stands for the German word for the future.
