Back to DNA databases

Time to identify future crims at the age of 5
and put them on a DNA database for their
future crimes?

Quote:
Gary Pugh, director of forensic sciences at Scotland Yard and the new DNA spokesman for the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo), said a debate was needed on how far Britain should go in identifying potential offenders, given that some experts believe it is possible to identify future offending traits in children as young as five.

'If we have a primary means of identifying people before they offend, then in the long-term the benefits of targeting younger people are extremely large,' said Pugh...

Scary. Our Lords and Masters strike again. Targeting young people ? Wrong, target the criminals whatever age they may be. Once more a group " punishment " catch all, infringe the rights of the majority to catch the minority, which of course wont work anyway.

Yep, agreed. Just because we can doesn't mean we should.

Reminds of that American politician who wanted to tax all male newborns for being very much more likely than women to commit a crime and be a cost to society.

Daily Mail readers paradise...

if you're not in the following group:

1. White
2. English
3. Protestant
4. Middle Class
5. Parents are together
6. Educated to at least undergraduate degree level
7. Employed and earning at least the national average
8. Non Smoker
9. Non Drinker
10. Within prescribed weight limits
11. Did I miss anyone?

tag 'em, bag em and stick 'em on the list

The only debate should be whether Gary Pugh should keep his job for suggesting this BS.
