Car dealers

1. Put the ****ing mileage in the ad. It saves me the bother of asking and you the bother of replying.
2. If you don't reply to emails, don't put your email address in adverts.
3. If you have a car with a dented door, instead of having someone trowel on 5kg of wag, sand it down with half a brick, then throw some paint on with a bucket, get a 2nd hand door. It'll probably be cheaper.
4. Please don't coat the entire interior with shiny aerosol back to black ****. It stinks and it looks gash.
5. See also tyre paint.
6. If book price is 2350 in good nick but yours has got bits hanging off, you won't get 2995 for it.

Usually with the typical car dealer its been driven through a hedge backwards.

No mileage normally gives the clue that its been to the moon and back, and they are some of the biggest con artists out there
I've worked for a couple and know most of their litttle tricks.
I would rather avoid them entirely but with so few cars being sold privately nowadays you often have to go the dealer route

It may well have been "corrected" by the first owner. It avoids the 8p a mile fine on return if they've exceeded the PCP agreed distance.

Private sellers often have interesting views on what their car is worth too. The fact that you paid X for it, still owe Y on it, and need Z to put towards your new car doesn't, in my book, make it automatically worth Y + Z.

If it's a private ad and it contains the word 'mint', that's normally a good reason to go with the horse drawn cart instead.
