Re:Thread lock downs.

Just want to say, Chris_b it was pleasure debating with you and others re: the DNA/ Crime thread, at no point did i think any of it was out of hand and actually was good honest debating as you would get anyway even Question time, i'm not having pop at Mod's but didn't want people to think it was locked down because we were pot shoting each other, anyway it was enjoyable and i've learnt new stuff from that thread while it lasted. And i hope the boys inoccent in all this, thats the main thing.

Re: Thread lock downs.

Yes, I don't know what is going on just now, there seems to be a spate of thread locking. i get the impression there is a big debate going on somewhere but i can never be bother with these long chatty "What have you done....." threads. I think they are the target, couldn't see anything wrong in the thread we were all on.

Re: Thread lock downs.

Just tidying up guys, there are lots of "chat threads" at the moment. We like to promote active discussions on current affairs etc as much as possible.

EDIT: - Bigfoot closed this one. Reasons I'm sure he will give below.

Re: Thread lock downs.

GT: the thread was locked as it had gone off topic and became a bit of a one-on-one between you and Chris.

As I did say on the thread, if you want to open a new thread about the police, do so, but I wanted to see the discussion go back to RF's situation. Once he's got an update, I'll reopen the thread.

Re: Thread lock downs.

Me and Chris, and others were debating and at no point was there any malicious comments or imature pop shots and me and chris weren't taking snipes at each other we were sticking to the issues in the debate. The reason i did this thread was so Chris and others would know that it was i thought a good debate and the lock down made it seem like it was a slagging match, which it never was. Hopefully Chris felt the same in is in no way offended by anything in the posts from anyone.

Re: Thread lock downs.

I was pretty chilled....

Got a bit annoyed with the officer...and he took the knife incident out of context from facing up to a burglar with a knife...

Especially as I went to a clinic run by ex policemen recommended by the police....as a refresher in my involvement with working with gangs....and young offenders.

But other than that - it was pretty much handbags at twenty paces...

Re: Thread lock downs.

But have to agree with mods intervention - the thread blew up into something other than the rights and wrongs of the officers involved in this incident and the heavy handedness - and the fact that now this guys son's DNA will be kept on file even though he may not have commited the crime.
