Vere are your papers!!!

Not long until uk.gov will
have everything in place that
would've made the Gestapo proud.

Re: Vere are your papers!!!

quite right

there are two types politician...

the first is the grass roots type who knows their community and what goes on in it, what issues are faced and how govt policy actually impacts on society. this politician will never be a cabinet minster but may be a backbencher at some point. they don't spend so much time in the House and would never be considered for a non exec board job in the private sector. They remain in the job for years or get bored with the fantastic level of hypocracy / sleeze (all parties at some point) and go back to their old job. probably a job in the real world.

the second is the career politicain who is only interested in the next re-shuffle and being able to have a wife who talks about when hubby brings home the red box. promoted beyond their abillity (the peter prinicple in the flesh ) they flit through various depts mismanaging crisis after crisis whilst claiming to be an expert in the field when pushed on Question Time. they think the electorate are lucky to have them and when they finish up either sacked or resign its off to the House of Lords for a peerage and comparing non exec / charimanship jobs with their new buddies - other fellow c++k up merchants.

ahh feel better for that

i know where i would put jacqui smith.

Re: Vere are your papers!!!

And the solution to the problem is ?? New goverment ? same old, more police powers, no that would be against human rights, how about freedom for all no checks or id, no that would mean even more immigration and the need for more controls, so lets see........no im afraid i never will, too much freedom people take advantage, too little freedom its oppression, lets just switch the lights out. Does someone have a sensible working solution to the problem ? Probably not it would offend some minority.

So Ray, you wanna live in a country
where if you take your bins out
of an evening, and a Cop catches
you outside your gate without ID
he can cuff you and take you away
for the night?

People taking back their rights.

Grass roots politics.

Voting in local independent candidates
who kick some parliamentry butts?

Dunno, but by my own experience
living in a country with mandatory ID:
It doesn't make the place safer or more
secure from anything.
Does mean you're likely to get thrown
in jail for the night.

I'd rather see compulsory gun-ownership than compulsory ID card ownership. It would do far more to stop crime.

Re: Vere are your papers!!!

ID cards will do zero to stop crime, its just another case of what can we do to wind up the population, no one wants them why dont the goverment listen to the people who put them in power.

Recent poll asked if white workers were invisible to politicians now in the UK (Answer was yes) and then some idiot(Social anthropologist was here job title) came on the radio and said the poll was racially discrimative against minority races.

Come on this was a poll about how white working class people were feeling.

Re: Vere are your papers!!!

As an airport worker I may be one of the first made to have one!
I already have to do a criminal record check and jump through all the hoops getting authorised signatories to sign my form Present several forms of ID. Now I will need a card that can be used to trace my every move whenever it is asked for.
I am also concerned by the biometric data attached to it as it could incorrectly incrimminate me of something (every time I blow my nose I dont want to have to incinerate the tissue so some crook can use my DNA to open a bank account).
Just another means to p!55 me off. I bet I am made to pay for the card too!

WWJD?
(What Would Jesus Drive?)

Are we nearly there yet?

I missed mine when I was demobbed! Darn site more convenient at border controls than that Blue Book it was replaced with, which would of been an uncomfortable fit in a battle dress map pocket. Had to hold your number board up at lower neck height, for the piccie, and no, we were not tatooed with the same.

Re: Vere are your papers!!!

If you are concerned about ID cards wait until we get ration books for food and fuel etc. with pending world shortages! I quite fancy a suit with the utility mark in it again, but I guess this is all scotch mist to most now, save a few of us?

Chris I`ve carried an I.D.card for some 40 years of
my life,
but never felt any qualms in
doing so.
I just have a niggling fear,
Gov`s quote freedom
of information acts.

Nothing too sinister, just an electronic copy of your photo and some of the data that's printed on the passport itself.
