Delivery dates

I ordered a few car parts online on Sunday. There was a huge 60% discount, so after picking up the small bits from the shop, decided to go home and order the main item - a lower wishbone.
All was going so well: £80 discount; delivery by 10am Tuesday 6/6; garage slot booked for Wednesday/Thursday.

I called at the shop today and even though I had a printed e-mail saying I could pick the part up yesterday, after 10am, it wasn't anywhere near the shop, or it's warehouse. And wouldn't be for a few days.

Given the fact that this was an hour before my arranged garage slot, I wasn't happy.

Luckily, the mechanic can order me a part for not much more money, but it now means I'm without a car for 2 or 3 days.

EUROCARPARTS: If you are going to let a customer down, then at least give them a bit more notice than when they turn up at the shop for collection!

(It would also help if I didn't have to wait at the counter for 45 minutes at the weekend, for a bulb and a wiper blade)

Rantage!

Reminds me of the huge delays it used to take
Fiat/Alfa/Lancia to source such hard to obtain
parts like... car batteries.

I'm quite surprised at ECP to be honest. My 2 local ones are both brilliant. They've taken to calling to confirm they've got the part in. Yours must be numpties or having an off day.

I stopped using a local motor factor for similar reasons. It's a massive PITA. More so if someone else is doing the work and has it in bits.

Pah, 2 or 3 days?

Try ordering a bed from Bensons Beds. Actually, it's very easy. But they'll lose it in the warehouse, then try to deliver a damaged one, then fix a delivery date but not tell you. They won't phone, won't write, won't email, and if you try to ring head office, the warehouse, the complaints department or the chief executive you'll end up with the same hapless three girls in a call centre who have no hope of getting anything done. Took nearly two months.

Double pah....2 or 3 days.

We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in the morning, no beds, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel, go to work at the mill every day for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would beat us around the head and neck with a broken bottle, if we were LUCKY!
