Photobucket

Ages since I have used it, just uploaded a scan and not only did it take flippin' ages to get in, navigate and upload the pic it also bombarded me with ads and locked up one screen so the only response was "Click on carppy link to go to terrible click-bait site"

More like Photo&*%ket

And you'll probably find that any pictures stored on there become property of them so they can use/sell them if they wish!

Yes.

That site has been lost to the ravening hordes of advertisers.

Oddly it is considered a 'sharing' site so it is banned. Flikr however is not ans are most of the photo cloud doins. I can obviously access it at home but rarely do.

Your access to 3rd party hosting is temporarily disabled.

They want $399 a year for a pagkage that provides for 3rd party hosting, eg using IMG Tags on other forums.

This is what all my threads in the Image Galleries look like now

It's probably only a matter of time, I noticed photobucket images broken on another forum last week I think, they were still working for me here at the time.

Looks like I'm done with photobucket, it's a pity to see so many threads, especially event threads going back years now with no images though.

I had this email as well.

If it was something like £10 a year it might be acceptable, but $399, they can shove it up their ****

It's a pity they didn't at least continue to host previously posted pics, rather than trash countless threads on countless forums

That at least wouldn't have angered existing account holders as much, implementing their new terms & asking $399 for hosting will/has resulted in a mass exodus & much anger :HEADBANG:

Are there other sites which still host free images? Or at least charge a reasonable sum?

https://www.flickr.com/ does, I haven't used it in years but I'll probably be getting used to it again, looks like 1TB free storage.

One issue I've found is that I can't get an IMG tag link on my mobile using the app, I can get on mobile though if using the website (desktop version only)

I've now swapped over to Imageshack, but I've been left with dozens of ugly Photobucket carbuncles where there should be photos, and no way of editing them on some forums.

And to make matters worse, I couldn't even download the photos from Photobucket without spending ages individually opening every one in a new window, clicking 'download' and putting up with 10000 more ads, so I've deleted my Photobucket account.

Idiots, hope they go bust soon.

Even if your links work at the moment, make sure you arrange alternative ways to store your images if you use Photobucket, otherwise you'll soon find you're faced with paying a $500 ransom to keep using them, or with having ugly "Give us some money or else!" images where your photos should be.

you can create an album with all your photos and then an option «download album» become available.

Thanks, I tried that but almost all the photos I downloaded were replaced by that horrible ransomware image so I had to do them one by one.

For anyone who hasn't already noticed, Photobucket hosted pics are back https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/meet...pt-2016-a.html

They have added a watermark to the pics but at least threads are restored
