Yob jealousy

My daghter's partner just got his Boxter back last weekend after a complete re-spray and new wing mirror. The car, along with about a dozen others in the same street, had been keyed on every panel and for good measure, the wing mirror booted off.

He was over the moon to get back as it took about six weeks in total.

Guess what.......?

On Saturday some barsteward has only gone and kicked in the passenger door....

I feel sick to the pit of my stomach for him.....

Re: Yob jealousy

Its just terrible.

May as well get rid of the Boxster and buy a *****-piece he doesn't care about. You can't have anything nice these days without worrying about someone vandalising it. Bring back corporal punishment I say

They live in a very smart part of Glasgow, so weren't expecting that sort of attention - just shows you, you're not safe anywhere.

Glad I never became a fireman, going on recent news reports. A society heading toward anarchy, and chaos? Dunno? What does the team think?:

Lance: Still got your Malibu?

Vincent: Aw, man. You know what some ****er did the other day?

Lance: What?

Vincent: ****ing keyed it.

Lance: Oh, man, that's ****ed up.

Vincent: Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of **** ****ed with it.

Lance: They should be ****ing killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.

Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that ******* doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.

Lance: What a ****er!

Vincent: What's more chicken**** than ****ing with a man's automobile? I mean, don't **** with another man's vehicle.

Lance: You don't do it.

Vincent: It's just against the rules.

Re: Yob jealousy

No, from what I can gather the second incident happened away from home. So not connected.

In fact, it could well be that someone backed into into it and simply drove off - another type of yobbery altogether.

Sue had that happen to her at Xmas, but someone spotted the culprit ( posh woman in silver Merc who got out, looked, jumped back in her car and bu**ered off.) We've just won the case against her, although she flatly denied doing it when the police arrived. Bad luck on her, cos an easy £200 quid bill has now turned into a bill for £200 quid and a charge for not reprting an accident. She'll have to suffer the humility of a court appearance.

Just goes to show yobbery isn't the exclusive preserve of snt nosed hoodies eh?

Not nice if he suspects someone has backed intohim and drove off and has an idea where is there any CCTV cameras around - you never know he may get lucky.

Re: Yob jealousy

Home CCTV cameras that cover the street are inadmissable in court, unless you have a licence to film the street, or so I heard somewhere. Anybody know is that true, and for both civil and criminal stuff?

Rather than buy a cheap piece of junk he doesn't care about I suggest he invests in a good baseball bat, some warm clothes and a balaclava

What, someone like Fife

Seriously though this is awful. I'd be sick to me stomach if that happened to the Spider.

Re: Yob jealousy

Thanks for the kind words.

I spoke to my daughter last night and the consensus is that someone either backed into it in a car park or some snothead took a run and kick at the wing mirror (apparently this is a new sport).

They've come to the conclusion that the Boxster just isn't a "lucky" car for them. Never had any bother with either of the two SLKs before the Porsche so who can tell?

Still, it's nothing new is it? In my day the sport was running over the top of cars (I never indulged BTW) and rats upon rats it happened to me in Moffat. Some neds ran over the Alfasud - left a neat Doc Martin footprint on the bonnet.......

Sighhhhhhh.......

Porsche owners quite often get some pretty shoddy treatment by a certain demographic of Joe Public, people spitting on their cars , or keying them or just as simple and basic as refusing to let them merge in traffic or pull out from a junction

I beleive Ferrari ownership can be equally frustrating in some places.

It's the green eyed monster, and it's everywhere.....

Re: Yob jealousy

Comes down to jealousy and the fact that they know the law would be soft with them. Had a car keyed from one end to the other right outside my house once. Moved away because the kids were running the street.

You're probably right.

I once had a Mercedes (company car) keyed whilst in the drive and I always suspected a neighbour. We lived in a posh little estate in a quiet unassuming town in SW Scotland at the time. This bloke was a ferry chief engineer, so not short of a bob or two but he had Jekyl/Hyde personality with a drink in him....
