Madness 3 Series BMW Drivers

Why are they - well the vast majority of them - such utter :sw: s

I had three incidents with the driver's of these w :sw: ker tankers last night

1. Chiswick roundabout... trying to save a few seconds by going into the wrong lane then trying to exit from the third lane and therefore meaning he'd have to cut across mine and another car inside me paths and not being able to do it and giving me a blast on the horn and a not very nice hand gesture !! (all lanes are clearly marked so it was me that was in the wrong you :sw: )

2. Approaching Kew Bridge a 'w :sw: k tank complete with w :sw: k pot' goes into the right hand lane only to draw along side me brake, indicate left swerve left then right again, blast of the horn and another not very nice hand gesture !! WTF

3. Leaving Kew Bridge and heading towards the South Circular in a line of moving traffic yet another 'w :sw: k tank' approaches from behind at high speed - it's a 30mph limit - and tailgates me and even flashes his lights !! WTF

There is obviously a certain type of self important :sw: that buy this particular type of car !!

Re: 3 Series BMW Drivers

BMW drivers all pay a £1k a year in road tax to allow them to do exactly as they want when they want dont you know.

I hate the bloody things and their owners even more.

best response is to not let them in - I think they just tend to get even more annoyed.

Re: 3 Series BMW Drivers

I had a BMW driver right up by backside once flashing lights etc...... I stopped the car in the middle of the road and calmly got out and started walking very sedately towards him. He promptly slammed it in reverse and went straight into a parked cop car at high reverse speed

P.S. all i did was walk back to my car as slowly as I could and drove off very slowly. Was really trying not to p*ss myself

Re: 3 Series BMW Drivers

I had a tussle with a BMW 530 who decided that the "merge in turn" sign on the exit from a roundabout didn't apply to him, he could just attach himself to the car in front of him in his lane and the two would merge as one. When I wouldn't let him, he was furious, horns, lights, hand gestures, the lot. He got on the inside of me and lunged across repeatedly trying to get me to swerve to avoid him, but I refused to be intimidated. I was in my couldnt-care-if-dented boring old Rover, so ultimately he realized that tactic wouldn't work and had to veer off at the last moment. By this time I was in red-mist mode as well and it got very bitter - I'm not proud of my driving as we tussled. I was tempted to video his antics on the mobile, but I'd probably get done for using a hand-held phone (not sure of the legality of using it as a camcorder!). He had more acceleration that I had, so would slow down, then as I passed in the other lane, speed up, pull out, slam the brakes, and so on. Thing is, he had a personalised plate so I'll recognise him next time, whereas I was in a pretty anonymous car and I think he did his bullying antics routinely so this was just another day of "other people in my way" to him.

I'm just glad the copper was not in or near his/her (must be pc) car as i'm sure they would have tried to do me for intimidating behaviour or something. Luckily my father in law is fairly high in the cop shop rankings around here so I probably would have only got a warning anyway. I'm just gutted i wasnt around to hear his explaination

Not entirely proud of what i did as I hate people that try and intimidate others but when you are put in that position there is not much else you can do is there

Re: 3 Series BMW Drivers

I've done the same in the past - gotten out of the car to confront an aggressive driver (and one one occasion a gesticulating/red light ignoring cyclist) - and it's amazing how quickly aggression or gesticulating stops and how fast they make themselves scarce !!

Re: 3 Series BMW Drivers

Everybody thinks they are safe as no one will ever get out of their own car to confront them about their selfishness.

However people have been injured or worse for doing this best response is to just varry on as if nothing has happened, although I should practice what I preach as I am terrible for suffering the dreaded road rage.

Re: 3 Series BMW Drivers

I must admit I've not had many BMW related incidents recently, but still get the "My BMW's falling apart. What, you've got an Alfa, do they not break down a lot?" comments.
