Madness some swine's nicked half my engine

have been changing my cambelt, done quite well, started putting it all back together again, and realised that all the ali (air box, rocker covers, coil pack covers aren't to be found, all the plastics there, along with my tools etc, but no battery or anything vaguely aluminium. quite disgruntled. if anyone tries to flog some pretty rocker covers to you................sods!

Dunno' mate, sounds feasible: Do know the oxy/acetylene flame makes a pile of ally' fillings/ grindings go up with a lovely Whoosh!:

Re: some swine's nicked half my engine

try mixing half alu filings/grinding dust (not alu corrosion) with half rust brushed of something really decayed, needs to be really hot to light, magnesium is hot enough, although a good oxy flame might do it if you can stop it blowing away, takes a few seconds to start the reaction, will melt through ceramic heat shields....................wot about my engine, need to rant

Re: some swine's nicked half my engine

already found some shinier engine bits, so starting to calm down! hercules stuff (i guess) burns pretty cold, but releases lots of gas. try the rust thing next time your in the workshop, but use a concrete floor you dont care too much about, cos it will melt, and only a pile about half the size of a golf ball- wear a welding mask!

Too much starch in a shirt collar, with back and front studs, makes for a disgruntled approach to the working day, I find! Grumpy Old Men? Well I am?
