Bah, humbug!

Peace on earth, goodwill to man, and time to gouge motorists at the gas pumps. Sure it's Christmas, that means we'll jack the price of fuel 10 cents per litre overnight. (And that's after putting it up the night before as well.) Why? Because we can. And because we know you suckers have been out driving around to the shops and will end up driving even further to see friends and family over the holidays. Merry Christmas!

Blimey - and they are not even making excuses -e.g. the price of crude - to "justify" it?

Happy Christmas anyway T.

No, the powers that be have been uncharacteristically quiet and haven't mentioned the increase in the price of crude or the almost equally common "refinery fire" as justification. They're not even trying to lie about (I guess that qualifies as a Christmas miracle).

Merry Christmas from Canada to everybody on AO!

dont know what this converts to but we pay
AUD $1.46 per litre for premium 98 octane
$1.39 for 95 octane
$1.26 for diesel

AUD1.46 = 1.04 US 1.41 Canadian 1.00 EURO or 0.85 GBP

we did away with holiday gouging ages ago and what the petrol companies opted to do was to stabilise the prices over a period with an average price

81p per litre for 95 Octane!! Think yourself lucky. In the UK it is about £1.16 (supermarkets a few pence cheaper) so nearly 50% more expensive. The differential between 95 and 98 octane seems less as well.

You need to get a more economical car mate. 22mpg is appalling.

instead of driving **** more, ******* to work and back

its good exercise and you will cut your fuel costs,

EDIT: i meant "walk", seems my finger slipped and i typed an N instead of an L ... good thing for the language filter, although both will achieve the same result lol

In Tenerife last week 95 octane was anywhere between about 80 and 90 Euro cents per litre, maybe a little higher in "rural" areas......so about 70 - 75p per litre. Diesel cheaper......

Two factors in fuel costs; distances can be greater in the US and different countries charge different taxes. Also , we have different gallons !

If you're using US Survey Miles distances are greater - by 3.2mm/mile!
