Madness There goes the morning

That's it. I'm done with winter. Yes, I know it hasn't even officially arrived yet, but I've had enough.

I just wasted the entire morning shovelling and sweeping. This is ridiculous. My stupid rated-for-arctic-temperatures gloves left my fingers practically frost-bitten in this god-forsaken I-don't-even-want-to-know wind chill.

My entire schedule of work for the morning went right out the window.

Bring on spring!

Laguna, Elgrand

I've got a fridge magnet depicting the two Canadian seasons that I got when I visited the Rockies. Simply says bugs and snow.

I do love Canada.

Oh, and the plows seem to be hiding. They definitely aren't out on the roads, or they weren't when I went out this afternoon, and they certainly weren't this morning for my brother's 100km plus change commute which took him over three hours (and this is after the snow fell overnight, so there was plenty of time to get it off the roads). It sounds like his commute home will be equally bad.

How can you not love the prospect of adding 2 unproductive hours to your day defrosting cars and clearing snow etc?

Throw in slippy tyres, frozen door locks and steamed up windows and what's not to love?

It's better today. No real wind right now, which makes all of the difference in the world. So right now it's -8C with -14C wind chill.

Last night it took my brother 5.5 hours to make it home from work. God forbid the morons in charge of the highways actually do their jobs and get the plows on the road. And Keithy, that's in a RWD sports car. He said his only bright spot of the drive was when he finally got a clear stretch of road and was able to pass three other vehicles--two of which were all-wheel-drive SUVs. (Mind you, that's him. There's no way I'd buy a RWD as my main commuter car. I'm not that confidant in my driving skills.)

Oh, I and I think I finally warmed up. Although I swear that one finger still feels a bit off.
