I've let someones tyres down!

Well, I've been threatening to do it for ages. Theres a useless bint who lives two doors up from me that absolutely cannot park. If theres a space outside for one car, she parks in it at a 45 degree angle and other cars struggle to get past as a result. If theres space for two or more cars, then she will park in the middle of the space so that nobody can park in front or behind her.

I live in a street where parking is difficult but, under normal circumstances, if everyone plays the game and parks fairly(but not too) close to one another, we all fit in.

I have asked this brainless oik to move several times and even offered, in the politest way possible, to show her how to park properly but this has fallen on deaf ears.

Today was the final straw. It was heaving with rain and I was just coming down the street with the kids in the car and she sailed into two and a half car lengths of space outside my house. I asked her, again politely, if she would mind moving back a bit so I could get my car in and she didn't even acknowledge my presence. Cow!!

So, I parked in the next street, forcing me to walk my 4 and 2 year old boys round to the house in the pouring rain. I got them inside safely and then went outside and deflated all four of her tyres.

I have been nothing but reasonable with this fat, annoying, rude cow of a girl and had nothing but rudeness and ignorance in return. So now that I've failed in trying to be a good neighbour has failed, I have decided to become a nasty one.

Rant over. Have I been naughty and over-stepped the mark???

Erm - do you have a driveway/front garden you could park in? Strictly speaking no one has the right to park in the road...

Re: I've let someones tyres down!

No - I have had this issue with a neighbour and know how frustrating it can be - at least my neighbour does move when asked.

I would have probably put a nail or two under the wheels and it would then actually cost her some money to have the tyres repaired or replaced.

I don't have a driveway, no. The road is a public road and anyone can park there providing their car is taxed.

I did that once on holiday while camping in Spain, 2 oik's in a German registered Renault 5 Turbo racing up & down the campsite.
Went stealth mode under cover of darkness with a couple of King Edward's and a broom handle.
The pleasure in the morning was immense.
But the hag deserved her tyre's being deflated !

I can understand how rudeness from somebody would drive you to that fife.
But, if we are talking theoretical vandalism here, I've always wanted to squirt expanding foam under the gap of a bonnet to see if it seals it shut. Or into a boot to see if it completely fills the space with foam. I wouldn't do it obviously

Re: I've let someones tyres down!

I am sorry I don't go for cowardly acts like this.....

I appreciate your problem - but I believe in that revenge is a dish best served cold.

I am always prepared to wait - until the initial fury has calmed down....and If after a period of calm I feel that the only course is to meet out retribution - I do it so it is clear, it is permanent, and that the person is left under no illusions where this vengence has come from....

Going out and letting someones tryes down is vandalism and a bit childish and should not be applauded....plenty on here have suffered at the hands of someone commiting a sensless act on their vehicle....

Sorry to be a party pooper

Nope, the road is a public road, and no one has the legal right to park on the public highway. Any occupation of part of the road is an obstruction. Whether this occupation of the road constitutes an unreasonable obstruction involves consideration of:

1). Reference to the Highway Code
2). What effect it has on other road users
3). What alternatives are readily available?

I sympathise with your predicament, but if you are planninig to occupy the space she was using then you can't claim she was causing an unneccessary obstruction. I know what she did may appear unreasonable, but the problem is you are now in the wrong.

In every step, I hear your sobbing
Dare I break the shade with one caress
Dare I trespass to lift the veil
To touch the lips so soft and frail

It may be that love comes once and once only, preceded by rehersal, followed by regret.

Know well that however right a man may be they always find the fallen one guilty.

All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing

It could escalate but firstly she has to prove who has let her tyres down.

The easiest answer is to always react as they do and one day she will pull up just as you are about to park - leave you car there in so much room that she has to park elsewhere.

Word of advice though - stay in tehcar until she has gone cos if she cant park tidy and she tries to squeeze in she will end up clipping you car.

I think if she could prove who let her tyres down she'd just go to the police. What's she'll do is assume it was fife164 and key his car

Re: I've let someones tyres down!

In the words of Samuel Jackson.

Dont ever ***** with another man's automobile.

I appreciate your annoyance, my neighbour regularly parks her car across 2 bays. I just stick a big note under her wiper that implies she is a complete half wit and advises more consideration for others.

as stated this could escalate.

IMHO

Let us know what happens.

I agree with Gary. You may have felt very ****ed off (does the filter work on that?) but by doing what you did you have, as you said at first, overstepped the mark.

Annoying as some people are retribution like this is in the wrong.

Mind you, I don't know what I'd have done
