Stupid ECO taxes

So my quest for a cleaner petrol fired mode of transportation has
ended in abject failure as there is now a (wait for it) 3600 Euro/year
tax on any decent sized petrol engined car.

This cannot go on.

Surely at some point the number of people dying from DERV death clouds
will outweigh any monetary gain?

But surely TT4N is based in France so Brexit will not cause any changes for him

Office Chair.

In the UK it has changed recently on new cars. Not sure whether it is cost (over £40k) or emissions based or both but the first year can be a bit alarming. However subsequent years are much less.

TT4N, I take it that this is annual for as long as you own the car? I assume the French gov't want you all to own 1 litre multi turbo petrol engine cars and such?

What!? Governments putting maximum tax revenue before actual problem solving? That never happens!

Nothing Italian

I think it is more likely trying to protect French car makers that really do not have large petrol engines unlike the German marques or JLR.

Nope It's TVS: Company car tax. An annual tax the company has to pay to give you a company car.
based on CO2.
