Why put ice in Cider ?????

Why do they insist on putting ice in Cider ????? The constant threat of swallowing and choking on the cubes slows down my drinking to a crawl.

Chill it properly in the first place and keep the ice out of the glass. If I want to down my drink quickly and get [email protected] I want to have that option.

On the Strongbow at the moment !!!!!

Re: Why put ice in Cider ?????

There is nothing so good as a glass of warm beer

Anything that has to be cooled is necessary to hide the flavour or lack thereof....

Who wants flavour, it's the alcoholic content I'm interested in.

It seems fashionable in the pubs here to serve it with ice !!!! I think it's also to hide the fact that they arn't serving you a full pint.

Best Scrumpy I've had recently was up in Donington. We stayed on the campsite by the paddock entrance. They have a real ale bar at night with cask ale and cider. I was drinking 7% Scrumpy all night

Re: Why put ice in Cider ?????

everybody should put ice in their cider cos the advert tells us to, and we are of course a nation of sheep. i popped into the beer garden of a pub near work in summer 2006 (there wasn't a summer 2007) and had to have a giggle to myself as the place was full of sweaty builders & road-menders all drinking this pink cider with ice in

drunk loads of proper west country cider when i was on holiday in somerset & devon in june, magic stuff. not the loopy 7% stuff, just the normal hand-pulled flat stuff.

i love booze, me

I had a bad cider experience when i was in my teens, and have never drunk the stuff again.

Foul, sweet, nasty stuff that tries to kill you. AVOID

OBEY OBEY.
It also says : Recommended alcohol intake 3 - 4 units, and 1 can is 2.3 units, so only supposed to drink 1 & 2/3 a day. What do you do with the other 1/3 of a can ?

When you have pee'd about a third of a can you can then top your body up with the rest!
