Is Capello a good choice as the new England manager?

It looks like today or tomorrow Fabio Capello will be announced as the new England national football team coach. Good choice or bad choice?

And why?

Re: Is Capello a good choice as the new England manager?

I voted good choice as he is a good coach. However he is a very defensive one and that is the reason Madrid got rid of him. England fans don't expect much attacking football

He gets his teams well organised and well drilled, won't play people out of position and won't suffer fools. He is a tough nut but a successful manager.

Let's see................

Good choice providing he either already speaks or is willing to learn English.

Re: Is Capello a good choice as the new England manager?

England have great defenders (when fit) who are sometimes caught napping.

In Capello England will be getting a manager who has the ability to make that defence absolutely watertight. It won't be pretty, but it sure is effective.

But either Frank Lampard of Steven Gerrard is going to suffer, because Capello will NOT allow two attacking-free roaming central midfielders to play alongside one another.
If they're both picked, one will be on defensive duties.

And he won't put up with massive egos, or the media circus, which a huge bonus.

i am sure that if its lots of 1-0 wins that will be a HUGE improvement over the farce that is steve mclaren`s england management !

Who? Didn't he used to drive an F1 car from leyton House in the late 1980's?

Has Malcolm McClaren been sacked as England manager then?

This shows how much I know about football, apart from small boys jumpers for goal posts etc..

He's a top class coach with a proven record of winning things. And he actually wants to do the job!.

Also he won't take any cr*p from so called 'world class' players who have failed to qualify from a group with Croatia, Russia and Israel.

Sounds like just the man to kick our overly paid, lazy, whining players into shape then!

Personally, i know nothing of this manager, but others clearly do. As stated he actually wants the job, and if his rep is that good, then it can only be a good thing.

One thing i do know though is we have the talent and the players to take on the best, and win. Yet we fall apart. Its about time someone put the players down to earth and showed them whos boss to be honest!

There is nothing more degrading than watching your own national team fall to pieces continiously... Christ sake we should be winning everyhting in sight, not failing to qualify for the world cup! Thats a bloody joke!
