Normally, how much water do you drink?

Water is essential for human life (well, all life really) and a pleasure to drink particularly when thirsty.

So how much do you drink a day?

3 pints at least (beer is 95% water, so that makes 57fl.oz.)

Since a little kidney problem last year I now drink about 3 litres a day, as advised by the medics.

Plain water? Approximately none.

Water with some Robinsons sugar free orange and pineapple squash? Probably upwards of a litre. Maybe even more.

I didn't used to be able to stand the sugar free drinks. The taste of sweetener was anathema to me. But I seem to have been able to get used to it - in this form at least (still not keen on their plain orange flavour).

I've actually transformed my liquid intake in the last couple of years. Used to drink fresh orange a lot at home, Ribena at work, and usually a can of coke with my evening meal.

Now I've taken to filling a litre bottle with diluted squash and keeping that with me round the house, and it's got me out of the habit of the Coke. I don't touch the stuff any more apart from out at restaurants when I'm not on the alcohol.

Oh, and the Ribena has gone too. Two major problems with it - it's ludicrously expensive, and it occasionally causes symptoms on me which are very similar to a urine infection.

You drink 3 litres a day to stop you getting stoned?

(I apologise, that was appalling).

About a litre of 'boring' water and 4 cans of diet coke.
Not going into evening consumption!

Around three liters a day for me as well. No aircon in the office and we've been having more than 25 degrees outside for the past 4 weeks in a row already...

//Offtopic start//

A bit off-topic, but still interesting to share:

Have any of you ever thought of how many liters of water is used for an "average" car tunnel wash? (I guess quite a few here wash their cars themselves, but still the majority of the population still uses the washing tunnel at gas stations). I recently learned that the average amount of water is around 500 liters

And to think that so many people in the world have to walk a few kilometers every day simply to have water... /offtopic over//

Does Coke Cola count?

BTW carwash water is mandatorially recycled in most EU countries now
so they actually use very little water.

Yes it is! I would have never thought about it, which makes me feel ignorant about the whole issue...

And just think about it when you see the lines of cars in front of the tunnel(s).. at 500 liters a piece, that's quite horrifying facts.

This US study (a bit old since it’s dated 2002) and perhaps not entirely objective since it’s made by the Car Wash association indicates usage of 43.36 gallons per vehicle which is about 164 litres

Here's the info from a Swiss car wash, which partly uses recycled water: click here (in German).
