159 Turismo/Lusso

Following my thread here:

https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfas...ml#post1240584

who considers the 159 Turismo to be a poor spec and would rule out this model completely.
Or who thinks the Lusso model has a load of toys which are silly and not worth paying the extra premium for.

Please remember this is just for the 159 models, not any others.

Lusso for me. Should (in theory) hold value better at resale Plus I'm a gadget guy and like all the toys

Re: 159 Turismo/Lusso

Just remember though that as the car gets older the extra premium you pay reduces between models - and you have had to pay the extra in the first place for them!!

Oops! Forgot to add to the poll:

Turismo...good value/spec...I'd go for one.

Anyway to add this on moderators please?

True, but if I'm going to run the car for 3 years and 80k miles, I'd like to as comfortable as possible. (thick pile carpet mats, soft leather, auto climate control, self dipping mirror, handsfree phone etc etc), but that's just my personal situation

I would even buy a 8k mile 2nd hand 159 lusso rather than a brand spanking 159 turismo - the same purchase price but a different enough 'life experience' with the vehicle.

Re: 159 Turismo/Lusso

BTW - I still think the Turismo is a well specified car - I happen to like the Alfatex cloth etc
Very much like BMW do with S, SE and Msport ranges.
Audi with S, SE, Sportline
Alfa with Turismo, Lusso and now TI

Re: 159 Turismo/Lusso

Yep, I 'd agree that I would buy a car with specific bits I wanted, but thats purely becuase I wanted them, not becuase I would make the car more saleable in the future. At the end of the day dealers give you pathetic trade in values regardless of spec. It's perhaps more important if you sell privatly.

Re: 159 Turismo/Lusso

Yeah, I like the Alfa tex, but I have real concerns (in grey and beige) as to how it will age. This is probably one reason why if possible I would go for a Lusso as they have leather as standard.

I wonder why they dropped Veloce in favour of Ti?

To pull it into line with the rest of Europe?

UK is the only country that uses Lusso, Turismo etc.
Everywhere else it's stuff like:

Progression
Selective
Destinctive
Exclusive
&
Ti

The higher the spec the better, especially as they get older. You try shifting a 166 without leather!!

The Lusso's worth it for the Aluminium trim alone.

Out of the 2 Lusso; but you can get the Ti across the range and frankly you'd be mad not to get that

We only sell the Lusso or Ti, we find the Turismo just does not sell.

The Ti is not for every one, some people find it a bit over the top.
