Doesn't matter what we think:

uk.gov will do what it wants.

Seems we have to bomb Iraq every 6-10 years now:

1991 Kuwait 1st Gulf War
1998 US Bombing of Iraq
2003 2nd Gulf War
2014 ISIS/ISIL/Whatever.

Need to keep them in their place.

Should we bomb Syria ? Probably not. But we never learn.

TBH if we do we just encourage more people to join them... half of their argument is about the west using excessive force.

so what do we do,

walk right into their argument and justify it

A better question might be what is the best way to deal with IS?

Ok . Get back to us when you've done a bit of research on whether just specific people in Syria should be targeted.

No, that's another question, James. A relevant one, of course.

But if the bombs are being dropped and missiles launched, hadn't we better be really clear on our intent, the credibility of our mission and our next steps? I'm not.

I mean there is a sense in his argument - I think it was loosely based on that expounded by the Wise Woman in Blackadder II.

see, this is what's wrong with the world. If the people just butt the hell out, the smart bombs can sort this out.

Why don't they put the smart bombs brains into people and kettles and alfas?

actually they did in one of my Alfas
