When do you last honk your horn.....?

For me it was today: Woman pulling out of a T-junction looking to get T-boned.

What about using the horn just to let someone know you are there,
why does it have to be in anger?

Borrowed a car today, within 30 minutes I'd been cut up twice ! One of them seemed quite keen to get away from me.

That's not what the horn is for. I'd be honking constantly if that was the case. Serious the driving here is bad the parking even worse.

I used mine the other week, to say goodbye to my gran as I left her house.

I am not one for using the horn much whilst driving unless someone is a complete plank.

I'd say it's anger if you do it after the fact.

Agreed.

But it can avoid accidents if applied judiciously and in time.

Used the horn twice today, there was no anger involved just telling the other driver there are other people sharing the road with him. Allowable under the highway code I think.

Twonk in a Mundano trying to be a smart arse and turn left from the right hand lane onto a roundabout. Pity the horn in the DS sounds like a mouse having a fart!

Do you carry your horn in a bag, while you're walking around, then?

I use mine once a year to make sure it's working for the MOT.

To my eternal shame, I used my horn purely as a form of chastisement.

A stupid bint was sitting in the fast lane of a dual carriageway for no reason whatsoever. She wasn't overtaking anyone and she'd been there for around 1.5 miles, with a queue forming behind her.

I eventually undertook her (), giving her a very long blast as I did so.

She seemed to get the general idea and buggered off to the inside lane.

I received a round of applause from everyone behind me as they went on their way.

Permanently horny here!

Don't care who I use it on or where, if they are begging for it, they are gonna get it, hard and long. I have no respect for folk who are too afraid to give it a good long hard poke, that's what it is there for, so use it! Bash it hard, give it the full right hand, get it out there and in their face ears!

I used to be a horn pusher.... I even followed some guy home once to give him an earfull after cutting me up.... but now I'm at one with the road and it's many to$$er users and life is much more relaxed at the wheel without thumping one out.

Dodgy. Mind yourself be careful please.
Bad driving encourages bad driving as does good.
If that driver was distracted and not expecting you in the nearside blind spot.
Just saying.

CRV/Jaaag

If it's any help, someone used their horn at me this morning. He had been bimbling along in a 40 zone then a 30 zone with his speed constantly varying between 20 and 45, without any consideration of what was going on around him, with me behind him. We came to one of those sets of lights with 2 lanes where the lanes merge again after 100 yards or so. I had the crafty idea of nipping past but he went for a full-blooded launch to cut me off, coupled with a good long toot before I had even done anything tootworthy.

As for using mine, I honestly can't remember. It's not something I do. My wife uses hers as a hello/goodbye signal sometimes. People who do that frequently get right on my wick.

Auto Express - six issues for a quid. Offer must end soon (and then immediately start up again).
