Lewis Hamilton, tool or no tool?

You cannot deny the fact that Lewis Hamilton is a very talented driver, but is he a tool?

He's above else a racer - if he doesn't finish first, he's going to be p155ed off, and anyone expecting him to give a reasoned and phlegmatic response when a microphone is stuck into his face in the first few minutes after the race is going to be sorely disappointed - or start calling him a tool.

So, IMHO, no - he was understandably somewhat upset about a potential pole-winning qualy being ruined by an arguably cynical "mistake" by his team-mate, irritated by missing an opportunity to pit ASAP after Sutil's shunt, and doubtless mildly discomfited by having something smack into his eye, giving him affected vision whilst trying to thread an F1 car through unforgiving Armco at ludicrous speeds.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me........

A tool now but it wasn't always the case. Went down hill when he got in with the gangster rapper management team & he ditched his Dad

He was epic in his first season. Really living the dream stuff.

I tend to agree with 'rgwm' ^

The body language between the two 'team mates' says more than any words IMO

In similar circumstances I can't think of a single driver who would not have given some kind of reaction as Hamilton did. They are all whingers when things don't go their way. Some say their piece and move on. The ones that carry it to future races are the tools.

I happen to think that Monaco points should no longer be counted toward the championship. The prestige of winning the race should be the prize. But then the result is usually decided in qualifying. All a bit of a non event for those of us with less than £20 million in the bank.

What rgwm

I think he has created this "Fued" with Rosberg when he really didn't need to.

He should let his driving do the talking, not create unnessesary animosity with his team mate.

Massive tool. He's quite good at driving though.
So long as he doesn't turn out to have been a nonce, I'll forgive his bad PR skills.

I agree with those who say he seems to have changed in the last couple of years... he started out as someone who was just so happy to be there anything could have happened...

Over the last few years, for someone so young, seems very bitter

I think his psycological "War" with Rosberg is failing, and that is why it seems like he is loosing the plot himself in the last couple of races.

As for comparing himself to Senna, why? Other than being great at driving they are very different. For a start Lewis is more of a what you see is what you get type of person, where as Senna was the opposite.

Does that mean
what you see is what you don't get,
or
what you don't see is what you get?

I wasn't sure what you meant.

What you see with him is what you get. He tends to be emotional rather than cool and calculating.

As for Hamilton,

What's all this talk of psychological warfare that he has allegedly started all about ? I don't see it anywhere. He doesn't like losing. No shiz he's an incredibly talented, self centred, motivated sportsman. I think Nico said exactly the same didn't he ?

I think too many people are suffering from being led by the nose in terms of what people are saying about Hamilton rather than what he's saying or doing himself plus a bit of good old fashioned British tall poppy syndrome.

Some of you lot would have a very different view if he was in a red car.............
