Just had to do this, but considering the headlights are crapola on the XF I bought some 120% brighter ones that have showed that the kick up looks like two ears and it happens on the ground about 10 feet in front of the bumper.

Methinks the beams need some calibration

Dead annoying this, seeing people driving around like Cyclops. Halfords do a decent replacement service and their bulbs are often BOGOF, so you'll always have a spare.

I would, however, replace my own as soon as I noticed - which would be quickly beings as we only presently have a few hours of daylight

Last time a bulb went on the snortwagon the guy in the garage was 15 minutes trying to chop it out.

Not for me!

Are they okay? I e had oem xenons on a few cars and love them, just worried a bit about carving up the headlights for cabling

Dunno, never asked them

No cable carving required, just plug and play

Yet to have one go on my Alfa.

But when one goes on the wife's car I take it to Halfords and let them change it.

I know it's an extra 6 or so but changing a bulb on a Peugeot 308 is a right pain in the a#%e

Used to change myself but I no longer have the manual dexterity (ooh err missus!) that I once had (following a snapped tendon in middle finger) so it's off to the dealer these days. They only charge 13 including the bulb and they get the fun of retrieving the retaining clip from the bowels of the lamp unit, .

Member car:

Office Chair.

My previous 2003 Passat was an arse to change the dipped light, beam was impossible without removing the front of the car.
Not sure about the Alfa GT as I have never changed them, the Spider IIRC is easy and so is my A4.
No idea about the Fez.
I think many handbooks for new cars suggest a dealer to replace.

I have spares in the car but not sure I'd be able to do it on the Mito, you probably have to take the bumper off or something !

I haven't had a bulb go in any car for about 20 years ! Just lucky I guess
