Re: Powernapping at work

not sure about other line of work but in my case it can be very useful especially when doing an all nite run. just a 15 minutes or so nap during low workload cruising time and you'll be much more alert later during the more busy approach and landing time.

Hi madz330, may I ask which types of planes you fly? Just out of curiosity.

Re: Powernapping at work

probably but all depends whether the management decide to keep the orders. I have a feeling that they would cancel it if they could.

Re: Powernapping at work

Powernapping at work is one of the best things to do.
In my line of work, I find it very easy.

Re: Powernapping at work

I suppose it depends on a number of variables and especially circumstances, but generally, I'd have to say "no" even if it would be quite nice to do it sometimes. We are paid to do a job, so we should sleep in our own time (and, yes, I am but a mere wage slave myself).

...my son keeps waking at 5am so excuse me for five minutes while I get my head down before 9am.

I can't powernap. I need at least a couple of hours.

Re: Powernapping at work

Some of my co-workers get up at 7:00 in the morning, get dressed, come to workat 8:30, and only wake up at 10:45 am, is this still seen as powernapping ?

Re: Powernapping at work

I used to powernap at work, usually on nights, between 1am-5am, and almost always on a sat night.

Working days now is just not as much fun.

Re: Powernapping at work

Totally unacceptable.

If you want to nap, go home, or
drive your car to a quiet car park.

I used to "go home for lunch"
if I'd partied to hard. Not young
enough to cope with it any more.

If I found one of my team sleeping
in the office I'd give them the end
of my boot.

I think in some cases it can be acceptable, but I don't do it myself.

Re: Powernapping at work

I go home and powernap at lunchtime. Added to speding some quality time with our cats, it sets me up for a stress-free, productive afternoon...

I don't get to "power nap" for that long in a full night's kip!

Boring Re: Powernapping at work

Don't think its acceptable; would imagine it makes you feel more knackered when you wake up
