Would you move out of the UK?

Would you consider moving out of the Uk? The way things are going with the high cost of housing and living, mass immigration, rising crime, and a worsening infrastructure, and of Course Tony Blair.

This follows a survey on the TV.. Just wanted to know what you all thought.

Yes, we've seriously considered it. I love England, but for the reasons above I'd like to get away

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

Yeah!Great Britain is beginning to look not so great to me and I'm trying to get onto the property ladder but,as everyone knows the house prices are crazy.
I just feel like taking my savings and maybe try to get into Canada which is like Scotland but bigger.

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

I love England too, although I moved to Wales

However, I must confess, with the crazy house prices and fast pace of life I do wonder if somewhere like Canada might be better.

I must confess though, I really liked living in Durham...and once you get into Northumberland you don't have all the over-corwding issues you get else where. Even in Wales, come a bank holiday the roads are clogged with people from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Shrewsbury etc, whereas in the North East you can actually find roads with traffic moving on them. The place I'd like to live the most is on Holy Island...there's something nice about the fact it gets cut off from the mainland twice a day. The Highland of Scotland is pretty amazing too, although bleak in winter.

In every step, I hear your sobbing
Dare I break the shade with one caress
Dare I trespass to lift the veil
To touch the lips so soft and frail

It may be that love comes once and once only, preceded by rehersal, followed by regret.

Know well that however right a man may be they always find the fallen one guilty.

All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

I would but I fear I am too old for it all now, maybe a retirement place in a another decade or so, in truth though that's more likely to be in Scotland than out of the UK.
I am sick of this nanny state of ours and it's you can't DO THAT! attitude.

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

given the right opportunity, yes. without question.

i'll always be proud to be scottish, and, should i get the chance to move, i'll always miss it.

if you were to ask where i'd go, not sure. i've a friend who lives in norway, he speaks very highly of it.

i'd come back to scotland to retire tho. maybe somewhere up the highlands ?

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

But surely if you move you'll be one of the immigrants ****ing the 'locals' off.

I'd say I'd consider it but really can't imagine that I would. Everyone knows that the SE is the center of the universe

This poll's not so great when you are planning a visit to the UK.

Why not, you have to go to the UK first to be able to move out

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

Doesn't matter who's in charge, we're governed by Brussells or the US these days.

I wouldn't mind a bolt hole in France but I'm not sure i could move permenantly. you see these progs on TV about people who've done it but when is comes down to it i'm english and proud.

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

I would - absolutley

First choice would be South of France then Italy (as close to Maranello as possible) or Florida.

Saying that, France general is lovely (not the Cities so much).

I need a lottery win

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

I think the best solution if you can manage it it to buy a nice little holiday home within 2 and a half hours flying time from where you live and just go there when you are feeling a bit sick of it all.

That's what I do anyway. Am off to my apartment on the Costa Del Sol Monday evening to just chill and see the cars, wealth and breath in all that great Andalucia air. The come back to the real world again a bit refreshed.

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

Yes, I have done it before, moved to Sicily, probably where I seriously developed an Interest in Italian motors other than Ferrari, despite higher taxes and numerous odd taxes over there the cost of living was lower and quality of life higher.

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

When I was on holiday in Florida earlier this year I thought that I would seriously like to move over there. Just such a relaxing atmosphere, friendly people etc. I know there are downsides but I loved the place. However, it's very difficult to get permission to live there on a permanent basis unless you've got a job setup beforehand. I'd still love to do it tho, but I've got idea how to start going about it?!

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

Did already 1 year ago after about 10 years. Cost of living in London was crazy and quality of life too poor. Crime on the increase, can't save any money, pollution.

Forget about it.

Don't really know life outside of London so can't comment on the whole UK though.

Re: Would you move out of the UK?

I would love to move out of the UK. I have a pretty decent job, but I still cannot afford to get on the property ladder, I also have to pay a fortune in taxes, as well as more taxes to run my car. The roads are terrible, everywhere is full of Chavs and Economic Migrants. There is lots of antisocial behavior everywhere and political correctness means the Police cannot do anything. I also have no pension to look forward to, cannot afford the dentist so I have to wait until I am in pain before I go, and then there is the Nanny state thing. It seems to me that if you are british you are treated as a 2nd class citizen whilst all comers from elsewhere are greeted with open arms and given everything.

I am pretty sure some of you won't agree with all of this but its just my opinion and wasn't meant to upset anyone. I am just not liking living here much at the moment.

Not surprising..there are as many Scots born living in Canada as living in Scotland
