Jack Frost.....unkempt and unorthodox, drove a knackered Sierra or Volvo...

Taggart.....superb dourness amongst the stygian gloom of Glasgow.

Shoestring - but that was a long time ago and it was filmed in Bristol around the corner from where I work now!

Otherwise, Miss Marple.

Re: Watching the Detectives

No, no, nooooo.....Sherlock Holmes was the man, the stuff of my childhood!

Did you know that the Inland Revenue once sent him a tax bill? That's how real he was!

Basil Rathbone was the best!

Re: Watching the Detectives

Just bought the entire collection of Morse! 18 DVDs totaling 36 episodes!
No cheap give aways as in CSI and the likes. Staying on top wondering for 80 mins. what is going on. I even had to view 11 episodes again to make sure the story fits the outcome.

Great performances by John Thaw as Chief Inspector Morse!

Current favorites: The Shield, featuring Michael Chiklis (known for his rather dull character in The Commish), Criminal Minds (FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit) and Law and Order with Vincent D'Onofrio (he is the daddy to Karen Mulders to be born baby!).
