Is Schumi having a laugh in Monaco?

So, who thinks Mr Schumacher was having a good chuckle to himself today by deliberately understeering round the Rascasse?

Schumacher is a gangster and will use any method legal or not to win.

I think he should be disqualified from the GP altogether.

schumacher always missess the point....great legends dont neccessarily have to win...they just have to have respect for their sport and most importantly, lots of class...he has neither and will never be spoken in the same sentence as jim clark, stirling moss and ayrton senna, to name but a few !!

bring back our nige !! tasche and all !!

Good call mate. He may have won a lot of championships but the man simply has no class.

...I never saw the incident until before the race and IMO Jackie Stewart got it right for me, he may have made a slight error on approach spoiling that particular lap but he then instinctively thinks "how can I turn this around or not come out of it as bad". His decision on instinct was a bad one which he will regret.

Mike, you took the words right out off my mouth. Schumacher my his action in Monaco (along with various other incidents throughout his career) has shown he's not worth to be mentioned in the same breath as those other greats.

Totally agree with you Ascari and whilst I'm not really a Schumacker fan, I can sort of see why he did it - it's just the way his mind is working all the time. He did the same thing when he took Damon Hill out a few seasons back.

He is a genius of a driver, but then, like all geniuses he's flawed and whether premeditated or not, a cheat I see he managed to come fifth in the end and it was probably inevitable with his skills and car that he would manage a top ten finish, so I think a fairer punishment would have been to remove him from the race completely - it would make him think twice next time

Passion: there are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your Heart...pursue those

Re: Is Schumi having a laugh in Monaco?

Didn't see the incident but it just annoys me really, could you imagine if that had been the other way around? I doubt the renault would have been shoved to the back.

Yeah F1 is a bit boring now but for 20 odd years it was Ferrari pushing to win making it interesting. When they finally win some championships it's not fair and the rules change and it's all out to stop them. It's the FIA and all the other top teams that are guilty of cheating. Given that I doubt he would deliberatly do this.

I never liked Schumacher before he came to Ferrari, but supporting Ferrari changed that when he arrived I realised he clearly he is the best driver out there.

Re: Is Schumi having a laugh in Monaco?

There is a body of people who will always mistrust MS's actions whether he's right or wrong, because it's popular to dislkie him.

Every time MS is discussed the same old stuff comes out

People make mistakes but MS doesn't it would appear...

With all respects Wrinx, I think people agree that MS made a mistake, that mistake was that once again he tried to cheat.

Eddie, with all respect I think you're being rather selective. Banning Berylium (sp?) and the McLaren brake system (both at Ferrari's request) hurt McLaren, banning driving aids hurt Williams, going further back to the FOCA FISA wars banning ground effects hurt everybody except those with a V12 engine (i.e., Ferrari). I think its widely accepted that when there's a major rule cahnge its the better funded teasm (e.g., Ferrari) who benefit.

Fair point, I just get fed up with the way Ferrari and MS can do no right since winning a championship. As mentioned, I didn't see the incident and haven't seen a single GP this year. The whole thing is a farce these days and like football, F1 isn't a sport any more and is just a money making machine.

Re: Is Schumi having a laugh in Monaco?

Big Schu' likes to push the limits, both on the track and in the rule book.

Fair enough I say..

It's no more serious than a surreptitious shirt-pull, hand-ball or theatrical dive in football.

He got caught, he got punished. Now let's just deal with it and move on.
